Together Pangea release new single “Grass”

May 10, 2022

Last Friday, Together Pangea released the instantly catchy “Grass,” a nostalgic summer anthem about the circle of life. The band have just wrapped up their US tour and will be heading to the UK and Europe next month for a series of festivals, headline shows and support dates with Jimmy Eat World to promote their latest album DYE. “Grass” and the previously released song “What It’s Like” hail from the DYE sessions, which delivered an undeniable collection of hooks, anthems, and power pop garage rock catchiness, and these two additional songs are no exception. Explaining the meaning behind ‘Grass’, bassist Danny Bengston explains:  “”Grass” is about both the gradual (but increasingly frequent) realization of one’s mortality through aging and the attempt to find solace in knowing that there is comes to an end and that life goes on as it was before and after our deaths.” “Grass” will be included on the extended version of the current album “DYE”, which will be released on July 8th.   DYE Tracklist: 1. Marijuana 2. One Way or Another 3. [Read More]

MNYS has announced his beautiful new EP “…Before The Internet” to be released 17th June 2022 via Pure Noise. “This is the first project that I’ve gone into with cohesive intention both sound-wise and thematically. Mostly chasing this feeling that I had “before the internet” as we currently know it – before we were all expected to be brands or media companies” says MNYS. He continues: “most of my life, I’ve felt like an underdog – this need to prove myself. I talk a lot about the struggles of navigating personalities and relationships throughout life. Because even after you get what you think you want, it’s not at all what you expect it to be. So now I try to just blissfully play through music – just like I did before the internet”. Sunsleeper share newest single “Currents”

May 4, 2022

Indie rock outfit Sunsleeper have shared their new single and music video “Currents” via Rude Records. Inspired by the warmth and overwhelming character of 1990s alt-rock, the track embodies the feeling of being trapped and the overwhelming feeling of wanting to break free. “The song is about feeling stuck in a cycle that we have no ability to break. Grappling with the fact that life is like currents, forever undulating from crests to troughs. Nothing is linear, especially not existence”  vocalist Jeffery Mudgett on the new track “Currents” follows the release of previous single “In The Clouds”. Dripping with a 90’s inspired alt-rock feel, the track envelopes moments with the mist of nostalgia and the power of dreaming. The track gained notice from Ones To Watch, Hot Topic, Atwood Magazine, and other notable outlets. Sunsleeper was halfway through the touring cycle for their debut album when the pandemic halted live music. For the Salt Lake City indie rockers, that pause allowed them to reframe what their journey as musicians and people inspires them to create [Read More]

Joyce Manor share new song “Don’t Try”

May 4, 2022

LA pop-punk trio Joyce Manor released another new track from their upcoming new record “40 oz. To Fresno”, which will be released June 10th via Epitaph. Check out “Don’t Try”: Originally, Joyce Manor wanted to take a little break from music, but thanks to the wish of singer/guitarist Barry Johnson to keep on writing during quarantine, their newest project “40 oz. To Fresno” was brought into life. Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Tokyo Police Club, Joyce Manor’s “Cody”), mixed by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Phoenix) with help from Tony Thaxton (Motion City Soundtrack) on drums, a feeling of liberation underlies this project. It’s strangely fitting that the title comes from an automatically corrected text message via Sublime. Those kind of lucky coincidences are on “40 oz. To Fresno” and they are worth the following acoustic hangover. Singer Barry Johnson summarizes: “This album makes me think of our early tours, drinking a 40 in the van on a night drive blasting Guided by Voices and smoking cigarettes the whole way to Fresno.” Since their foundation in [Read More]
