Check out the double vocal dose with Myka Relocate on the Shapeshift Tour!

Last night we were at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco for the Dead Rabbitts Shapeshift Tour. You can check out our coverage of the Dead Rabbitts here and Nightmares here and we will bringing you The Relapse Symphony too. For now, let me tell you about the great set by Myka Relocate. Myka Relocate is a six piece metalcore rock band from Houston. Together they delivered a stellar set that had you enjoying the screams of metalcoree amid the clean vocals. They are the perfect blend and almost remind me of an offspring of Sleeping With Sirens, The Word Alive and Consider Me Dead. In  no way does the band imitate since they have successfully created their own sound and has everyone taking notice. While it is heavy, they still deliver electronic elements and catchy melodies.

Myka Relocate is:

  • John Ritter: Vocals
  • Michael Swank: Vocals
  • Luke Burleigh: Bass
  • Austin Dore’; Guitar
  • Josh Peltier: Guitar
  • Aaron Robertson: Drums

They are brimming with energy and took control of the crowd instantly. There might not have been a packed house, but that didn’t stop the crowd from having a powerful circle pit. They really put on a great set and with the dual vocalists it really adds a fresh dimension that truly works. I have seen other bands do it but one thing is for sure, John and Michael seamlessly work together and you feel the cohesion amongst the band. Guitars are fierce and hold your attention as the heavy drumming and bass make the rhythm complete.

Check out the photos by Rockin Ryan of their set here:

When you are at the show, make sure to pick up their album, Lies To Light The Way or you can head over to iTunes here. You will get hooked on it and maybe enjoy some of my favorites like Playing It Safe or The Answer.  So check the dates below and see if the Shapeshift tour is coming to a venue near you. The lineup is sure to treat you to a full night of bad ass music.  Their is something for everyone on this tour to enjoy.
