Southern rockers Big Engine are ready to take off with the release of their upcoming album, Shot Like A Rocket. They hail from Jacksonville, Florida and their high energy rock n roll has them gaining new fans to every day to their already die-hard fanbase. Today they are performing a string of dates at the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, SD.

Their style is straight up no compromised ROCK N ROLL with a Southern flair. You have powerful vocals that soar amid fierce guitars and catchy melodies. Their album, Shot Like A Rocket is what a true rock n roll album should be like and is often not achieved as well in today’s world. You are treated to 14 songs that each carry their own weight and are unique in their own right. Too many times these days, I can listen to an album or EP and several of the songs sound like the others, in such a way the riffs or the energy are the same, so much that you might think you are listening to the same song. That is not the case with Shot Like A Rocket.

In this album, each song delivers it’s own flair, whether it be with the rock anthem style as in Party Like a Rock Star, or the seductive melody in Call Me For a Good Time or the arena style ballad of Sister Mary or Not Your Fool. You will get fueled with the high energy tracks of I’m Ready – Let’s Go, Burn It Down or the title track Shot Like A Rocket. The emotionally driven retrospective track of No More Time is one of my personal faves. It is plenty filled with blazing guitars, sing alongs and catchy choruses. I love it from start to finish.

Big Engine is one hard working band that does not slow down. They have been known for their 200+ shows a year and they continue to perform each show at a 150% energy. I am hoping for some California shows soon! Check out the tour dates below and get yourself to a show:
