Another great performance at Aftershock Festival was given by AWOLNATION. This was my first time seeing them live, I have been waiting for a while and it always seemed that when they came to town, I was out of town. This time I was not going to miss them. They were incredible and just created a great vibe that spread through the sea of fans. There is something welcoming about this band, their stage presence and music is so inviting. It was great to see the variety of fans that they have and even see some serious metalheads enjoying their set. The Family Ruin album Dearly Departed releases tomorrow and catch them out on tour!

The UK bad ass band, The Family Ruin are just hours away from the release of their album, Dearly Departed on KBB Records. The album officially releases in the US on 9/23 and 9/29 for Europe. This is one album that we have been so excited for you to all hear. It is definitely one killer album filled with high energy tracks and a great display of musicianship by these five guys. The Family Ruin have really been garnering a lot of well deserved attention since singing with KBB Records, the new record label of Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce and co-manager Kyle Borman. The Family Ruin have a very fresh new sound complete with hard and heavy riffs blended with infectious harmonies, where they blend their metal and alternative influences with melodic hard rock. Interview with the multi-talented Dani Neff of Megafauna

Austin has been keeping quite a secret and it is time everyone gets to know about it. I am talking about the incredible prog-rock/alternative band Megafauna. I am not going to try and place them into a music genre category because their fresh new bold style of music fuses a variety of musical influences and have successfully created their own unique sound. You can pick up great tones of progressive rock, alternative grunge style, power pop and garage rock. They most recently released their album, Maximalist which is quite deserving of your attention. Midnight Cinema light up the Bottom of the Hill with their stellar set

This past Sunday, we made it down to San Francisco to catch Midnight Cinema as they performed at The Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. I have been waiting to catch them live and was so glad because all that waiting, was well worth it. They played to a packed crowd as they recently released their debut album, Lightning in a Bottle last month. It was great to see the crowd sing along to favorites like Hurricane, Back to the Butterflies, and Lightning in a Bottle. Another highlight is when they performed a dare I say…… cover… of Angel’s on the Moon, the big hit from their previous band Thriving Ivory. Last year we feature the great hard rock band September Sky and you can read more from our original post here. September Sky not only delivers heavy and hard rock that really grabs your attention but have had great success with their music videos. They have created videos that not only capture the song but are emotionally driven, like their video for The Fight. This time they have released their new music video for Fallacy which was filmed at the haunted Thornhaven Manor. Check it out here: The song is off of their second EP, Letter to Fear. The ‘Welcome To The Resistance Tour’ began on August 30th in Anaheim, CA and due to problems with their visa, The Family Ruin is set to join the tour a little bit later.
