William Control’s “Revel Without a Cause” Tour is one not to be MISSED!

November 7, 2013

Last night was the first night for the Revel Without a Cause Tour by William Control and I have been counting the days to this one! I have been looking forward to this tour since it’s announcement and William Control once again exceeded my expectations. We got to the show in time to see Fearless Vampire Killers from England and Davey Suicide. Both were amazing sets!  Every time I have seen him perform, whether with Aiden or with Black Veil Brides on their tour, he puts on a climatic performance. Being the first show of the tour always can put performers in a rough position as they test out their material, set and also have to deal with what the nightclub’s issues might be. They were performing in the upstairs stage of the DNA Lounge in San Francisco and that always brings challenges to artists with the sound issues as well as space limitations.  When William performed all that was a distant memory because you could not help but be energized by him. He literally [Read More]

Fearless Vampire Killers and their first US show ever!

November 7, 2013

Last night was the first night of William Control’s “Revel Without a Cause” Tour. Their first show was held upstairs at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. Opening for William Control, was British theatrical Alternative Rock band Fearless Vampire Killers, and it was my first time seeing them. They were amazing. This was their first show ever in the United States and they really won over the crowd instantly. Fearless Vampire Killers are Kier Kemp and Laurence Beveridge (co-vocalists), Cyrus Barrone (guitar), Drew Woolnough (bass) and Luke Illingworth (drums). Playing upstairs at the DNA lounge, always provides quite a bit of challenges for the band with space and sound, not to mention being the first night of their tour. So usually the first night is when you iron all the kinks out.  But that didn’t matter to these five guys. They came out and performed with fierce intensity and their songs pumped the crowd right up.  You can describe their look as a blend of steam punk with gothic and horror punk, whatever you call it, they [Read More]

Midnight Cinema new EP Midnight Demos 2013 is OUT NOW!

October 24, 2013

I know it was only a few months ago that I told you about Midnight Cinema‘s last EP and that one was amazing. You can read about it here. Well how about more incredible new music from these talented guys? They  just released earlier this week, Midnight Demos 2013 which is available on Itunes here.  It is filled with another 5 AMAZING songs. It started right off with Back to the Butterflies and I was instantly drawn into this catchy sweet tune that will have you singing along in no time.  Edge of the Earth is that uplifting song that will just help you to take you that next scary step in whatever you struggle with. It really has heartfelt lyrics and it just might be my favorite song for quite a while. Sooner or Later, Perfect Stranger and Someday Never Came deliver again lyrics that can speak to anyone about a variety of things. That is what I love about their music. You can listen to it and feel a personal connection to each [Read More]

The Pretty Reckless is a crowd pleaser in San Francisco!

October 20, 2013

Just only a week ago, I was at Slim’s in San Francisco and enjoying the incredible, Russian, British and American band lineup that comprised of Louna, Heaven’s Basement and The Pretty Reckless. You can read our reviews of Louna and Heaven’s Basement here. It was quite a night as these three very different bands came together and gave an amazing show that had the crowd continuously rockin out all night. This was the first time I saw The Pretty Reckless although I did get to enjoy Taylor Momsen as she joined Marilyn Manson on stage for the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards.  I have the footage in the Links below. One thing is for sure The Pretty Reckless has amazing stage presence and their songs are so damn good. I was immediately drawn in and excited to watch  more. Taylor Momsen has stated in the past that her musical influences are Kurt Cobain and Joan Jett and that is exactly what you get with her! She has this amazing grunge style with this rockin attitude [Read More]

Like Monroe release lyric video for “The Enemy”

October 16, 2013

We had told you about Like Monroe a couple months ago ( formerly A Candle Lit City) and brought you an interview with vocalist, Ty Johnson, read here.  Today we wanted to let you know that Like Monroe just released a lyric video for their new single “The Enemy”. Check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lVno8M-DOg&feature=youtu.be]   Lead singer Ty Johnson has been quoted before as saying,  “Every song for us has been about growth. We feel that we are writing our most thought provoking, yet inspiring music we have ever produced and we couldn’t be more proud”. This is one song to be proud of guys! Great job! I love this song. It has a great mixture of deep scream vocals meshed with hard rock vocals. along with bad ass drumming. The guitars are drop tuned heavy guitars that I always enjoy. You can pick up the new single today through their website here.   So make sure to check them out and follow them at all their new social media sites. ~ Marisol Information & Links: Facebook: www.facebook.com/likemonroeband Twitter: [Read More]

The Unlikely Candidates have my vote for great new music!

October 10, 2013

Last night Blue October returned to the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco for their SWAY tour. Opening up for them was a fantastic five piece band from Keller, Texas called The Unlikely Candidates.  They have a strong alternative rock/grunge style that blends with a bit of southern rock. It is a perfect combination that brings these five guys together to form The Unlikely Candidates. They came out with an energetic and charismatic performance. On guitars you have Brent Carney and Cole Male. Cole has a spirited stage presence and Brent delivers some great backing vocals as well. Jared Hornbeek jumps around and gets the crowd pumped with his smooth bass lines. Kevin Goddard and his intense energy deliver pack a punch heavy drumming.  The singer, Kyle Morris truly brings the crowd to their feet as he not only dishes out amazing vocals, but is high spirited in his stage antics.  They really put on a powerful show and for an opening band, delivered a headlining performance. You will definitely want to check out this band. One [Read More]
