Blackberry Smoke celebrate 20-year anniversary – new record announced

The celebrated American rock band Blackberry Smoke from Georgia will release their eagerly awaited new album ‘You Hear Georgia’ through Thirty Tigers on May 28th. On the 10 news songs, the band embodies the rich musical heritage Georgias and honors the people, places and the music of their home state. Through the cooperation with producer Dave Cobb, who’s also from Georgia, the new record is an homage to the deep respect of the band for their roots. Montreal artist Erick Beau releases new video for his track Coming Home. Check out the news below: During recent times of self-quarantining, most of us take being home for granted. Montreal artist Erick Beau has traveled the world and is always excited to come home. He shows this excitement in his new music video for his latest single, “Coming Home,” a song he wrote after being stranded away from home for eight weeks. After a successful 30-year career in law, Beau also comes home to his true passion: music. Today, he premieres the new video that he co-produced with his wife, MJ Michaud. The video premiered today on Americana Highways, who says the song “gets inside your head and sets up a grooving catharsis.”On the song, Beau teamed up with Montreal producer Michael Benjoar, to co-produce his debut album, What it Takes, coming out in May 2021. To record the album, Beau recruited some of the top session musicians in Nashville, including drummer Hubert Payne, from country group Little Big Town, and multi-instrumentalist Andy Ellison on steel guitar, guitar and banjo. Discovering Americana and the Roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll

  I have always loved a mix of musical styles. I guess that is what brought me to my current interest in Americana music. Americana pulls from the varied traditions and genres that have developed in America.  The Americana Music Association defines it as “contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart…” I just define it as all that American style music that I love! Being a big fan of live music, I had wanted for some time to attend the Americana Music Festival and Conference in Nashville. This last year provided the opportunity to do this and also along the way discover some of the roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll. BullyWest proves that nothing can stop their need to Rock!

BullyWest, an indie rock band from Oakland may have had to weather a few bumps in the road, but these determined rockers prove that nothing can stand in their way and their need to ROCK! With a sound that blends grunge/rock/alternative/blues/americana and classic rock into their own unique style, they will truly capture your attention. We had the chance to see BullyWest perform at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, last Saturday night and they blew us a way. I was bummed to have not heard of them before because it would have insured Music Junkie Press’ presence at their performances! The band has had to endure through the recent challenge of having thousands of dollars of their gear stolen at a recent show. This in no way, will stop them from forging ahead. Their fans and friends quickly stepped up with support and they held a benefit concert with Iron Heart, Six Gun Saints and other bands performing at Red Hat.
