Interview with Justin Emord of Love and a .38 at NAMM 2014

Another one of our favorite bands that we found at NAMM is Love and a .38. They are truly one of the hardest working bands in Los Angeles and have a tight family (fan) base that extends across the country! We ran into bassist, Justin Emord at the Hipshot Products booth at NAMM 2014. We were able to grab for a quick interview as he had his bass, Aurora on display. NAMM HIGHLIGHT: Xander and The Peace Pirates perform at the Gibson Booth.

Earlier this month, we told you about an incredible band, Xander and the Peace Pirates and how they were the TOP HIGHLIGHT OF THE CES 2014 Convention. Well, they did it again at NAMM. During a week where you literally have hundreds and hundreds of artists performing at various booths, it can be quite challenging to figure out who you are going to see and spend your day. It wasn’t hard for us, since I knew I wanted to see the Xander Brothers live. There was no question about that. We headed over to the intimate stage setting in the Gibson Booth and got there just in time as Xander and the Peace Pirates began. It was awesome! Xander and The Peace Pirates…the highlight of CES 2014!

Today is the last day of the CES 2014 Convention being held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The CES highlights and covers every aspect of the consumer technology industry. Not only do you get to check out all the latest and greatest in consumer electronics but you may be treated to some fantastic musicians. This year Gibson Guitars unveiled the Double Diamond Line which is built with real diamonds. Dj Ashba made an appearance to talk about his new signature Les Paul which comes out in March. One of the top highlights of CES this year goes to an incredible band from Liverpool, Xander and The Peace Pirates! Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song. Today Tom released the video for The Flower Song which is one of my favorites off his album. Trash The Brand gives us “Swamp Rock” that you have to hear!

I love my Rock-a-billy and I love my southern rock and soulful blues. Well trio rockers, Trash The Brand from Jackson, Tennessee have created a new sound that will have you begging for more. They have been described as “Swamp Rock” and their music brings southern rock with sweet blues and is an instant hit. The first time I heard their song, Devil’s Ride the vocals reminded me of Zakk Wylde and then you are treated to the bluesy rock that is sexy and invigorating. There may be only three in this band, but they have a big sound that is creating high energy rock in a soulful package. Scott Austin is on vocals and guitar, Scott Little on Bass and vocals and Steven Pulley on Drums.
