We were all very sad to hear of Austin Winkler’s departure from Hinder in a recent press release the band posted on November 20th. You can read more about that here. But there is some great news on the horizon! Just a couple days ago, Austin posted the following photo and caption on his Instagram: I am so excited to hear what Austin has in store for us. He has one of the most recognizable and beloved vocals in the industry and we need more of him! Hinder releases official statement about Austin Winkler’s departure from band

We had told you earlier this year about how Austin Winkler was taking time off from their tour and was temporary leaving for personal reasons. Fast forward to today and Hinder have officially released a statement that they have parted ways with the Austin Winkler and a new vocalist will be announced. On the HINDER website they have posted the following release: * * * * LOS ANGELES (November 20, 2013) – Multi-platinum rock band, HINDER has announced they have officially parted ways with their lead singer, Austin Winkler. SF Bat Kid to the rescue in San Francisco today!

So how about a great feel good story amidst all the headlines of bad or depressing news??? Today through the Make-A-Wish-Foundation a young 5 year old, Miles Scott spent the day saving San Francisco as Bat Kid! Young Miles as diagnosed with leukemia when he was only 18 months old, he ended his treatments earlier this year and is in remission. Miles wish was to spend the day as Batman. Miles came to San Francisco in order to pick up a Batman costume, little did he know over 7,000 volunteers have worked hard together to make his wish come true as he would fight crime and save San Francisco! Early this morning, it started with Miles watching a news broadcast on KGO-TV with Police Cheif Greg Suh calling for BatKid’s help in San Francisco. Music for me always represents a way to deal with emotions ranging from hate, anger to love and bliss. I think with music, my hope is we all can come together and can eradicate the hate and violence that is in this world today. It is sad to hear about the tragic fatal shooting of three band members of The Yellow Dogs from Iran. This indie punk/rock band relocated from Iran and settled into Brooklyn, seeking more musical freedom and they had been quite successful at getting their high energy music out there. Recently, one of the band members who was kicked out of the band, returned to their apartment at 318 Maujer St, Brookly, NY and fatally shot the three remaining band members.Another member has been shot but is in stable condition in the hospital. Names have not been released of the gunman or the victims. The band members were reportedly shot and the shooter was found on the roof with a self inflicted gun shot to the head, with a rifle by his [Read More]

Great News for Vivian Campbell

I love hearing good news like this! Vivian Campbell, Def Leppard guitarist extraordinaire has announced on Facebook via a post that his cancer is in remission! His post read: “For anyone who gives a toss, after doing another PET scan and all the other follow up tests, then getting a second opinion etc., I’m officially in remission from Hodgies. That’s the good news. The bad news is: I no longer have an excuse to not go to the gym.” We are excited for the news and wish Vivian all the best. Vivian did not let Cancer take over his life. Since his diagnosis last year of Hodgkins Lymphoma. He continued to tour with Def Leppard and now it looks as though he will be heading in to the studio to work on the group’s next album!
