New Years Day deliver a paramount performance at Ace of Spades

We have had the great pleasure of seeing New Years Day nearly half a dozen times in just the last couple years and on Wednesday we saw them once again as they returned to the Ace of Spades as they are out on tour with The Birthday Massacre.  New Years Day have the knack of putting on a whole of a performance every time and this time, I believe they outdid themselves. They were absolutely on point the entire night with energy abound and truly reaching a peak of perfection with their music. Ash Costello is truly an amazing vocalist and artist, her stage presence captivates the crowd and she invites them to join in her in singing the songs. The audience was fully engaged from start to finish. Anthony is a madman on bass and you he has great powerful backing vocals. Nikki Misery is absolutely stellar in his fierce guitar shredding as he is bouncing around the stage with leaps and jumps that will have your eyes wide open. It is so easy to lose touch with a friend or lose a connection with someone or something that made an impact on you. Life gets busy, we have obstacles to overcome and sometimes it just simply happens. But remember that feeling when you reconnect with that someone special or pull out your favorite cassette tape from the past and your passion is renewed in an instant? That is exactly how I feel right now as I have rekindled my love for Ionia. I first came across Ionia as they performed with Smile Empty Soul back in May of 2012. I remember being completely blown away by them and I picked up their CD and played it the whole long ride home from Sacramento. Time passed and unfortunately with my busy schedule, I didn’t stay connected to their music. But that won’t happen again. BlessTheFall ignite a wave of crowd surfers out on the Moving On Tour

Blessthefall were another great band to check out on the Moving On Tour. This was the first time for us catching them perform live and they were incredible. The crowd at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco were definitely ready to heavy it up by the time Blessthefall hit the stage. From the second they hit the stage, the intense wave of crowd surfers began. It was like a sea of legs in the air and sweat flying across the venue. They kicked ass and I am already looking forward to the next time they return to San Francisco.  The energy these guys bring out is unreal and they had the crowd under their spell. SomeKindaWonderful just finishedy entertaining crowds across the country with their genre-bending music that injects energy into every listener and brings them to life.  The 34 date US Fall tour opening for New Politics and Bad Suns wrapped up this past Sunday in Hartford, CT.  We brought you our coverage of their amazing set in San Francisco and performed at the legendary Fillmore. The Killing Lights new EP is out now!

We have been telling you a lot about The Killing Lights, the new music project by Michael Vampire, widely known for his work as frontman in Vampires Everywhere. The day has finally arrived for the release of their self titled EP and it was definitely worth the wait. The  five-song release was produced & engineered by DJ Black & Michael Vampire, mixed by Erik Ron (Motionless In White, Escape The Fate) and mastered by Sterling Sound NYC. The EP starts right off with Until I Bleed which delivers a straight up dose of rock n roll, complete with some old school style rock guitar solos and wrapped in a modern hard rock edge.
