Check out the uplifting new song from electro-pop duo OHLAYINDIGO

February 25, 2016

The Scandinavian electro-pop duo OHLAYINDIGO have just released a very uplifting new track, Golden Chains. Singer/songwriter Hanna Ponth shares, “‘Golden Chains’ is the kind of song we had wanted to write for a long time, but it was difficult to find the right words. It reflects on how a lot of us who come from privilege value material things ahead of what is really important. The song suggests we take our ‘Golden Chains’ and tear them off – encouraging us all to step back, and reflect on what we could do differently to better ourselves.”   Check out the track here: [soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/247913345″ params=”auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”450″ iframe=”true” /]   Ohlayindigo is a San Francisco-based electronic pop duo from Oslo, Norway, composed of Ponth and drummer Zak Shrapnell. Ponth was selected to partake in a songwriting session with Sir Paul McCartney, based on her songwriting credentials and merit obtained while studying at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. During the session, she sang with him and he helped her work on the first single, “Love You To The Moon”, which he was very impressed by.  They are heading out to SXSW [Read More]

Rock n Roll sisters Good English release infectious new track, The Fire Walk

February 12, 2016

The fierce Rock n Roll sisters, Elizabeth, Celia, and Leslie Rasmussen known as Good English have just released an infectious new track, The Fire Walk. The Fire Walk is the first single from their upcoming full length album, due out in March. The single was intended to be fairly disconnected with little meaning, aside from a simple plot of a girl attending an event or party. With the inevitable influence of “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,” it organically started to gravitate, morphing that “girl” into Laura Palmer. Elizabeth explained, “I knew from the beginning that I wanted this song to be sassy.” She continued, “The lyrics immediately had imagery of the show and the movie. Lines like, ‘talking backwards like you’re dreaming,’ and ‘a room of black and red,’ are obvious ones, whereas others hint more at various aspects of the show.” “The Fire Walk” was recorded and mixed by Andrija Tokic at The Bomb Shelter Studio in Nashville, TN and mastered by Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ. Aside from a killer song, the girls also walked away from recording with quite the education. “The [Read More]
