Miggs will have you reminiscing about that one break up that defines you

February 24, 2015

Miggs have hit it out the park with their new song, Moving On which is the second of their B-side tracks.  The emotionally driven pop rock style song takes you on a storytelling journey through a break up, but in no way is another sad breakup song. Instead, it is infectiously catchy, rich with raw emotional vocals and a melody that will remain long after the song.  It reminds me of another infamous “breakup” song Missing You by John Waite. It completely grabs a hold of you as it nestles into your memory bank and you can relate to that one break up where it was more than moving out, it was Moving On. It is delicious in lyrics and I really love this track and I hope you do too! You can pick up the song as a Free Download by visiting here: http://t.co/QMvmpySOfg Make sure you also pick up their incredible beautiful track, Heart of the Unknown which is available on iTunes here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/heart-of-the-unknown-single/. Time Travel by LA transplant Jasmine Jordan. timeless R&B and pop by Patrick Heffernan

February 21, 2015

Jasmine Jordan’s Time Travel  is a thing of beauty,  past,  present and future. Patrick O’Heffernan   Jasmine Jordan does something with R&B and pop that is quite unusual.  There is the  familiar tempo and feel of  R&B, but there is also a longing, a maturity, a personal  connection and a heart to heart conversation that is rare to find and hard to accomplish.  Jordan accomplishes it with what appears to be little effort.  When you listen to her EP, Time Travel,  you feel you know her with the kind of knowledge that you get from listening to a person talk while you read their face and body language.   Time Travel is her first EP, but is moves with the sophistication of a much more experienced artist.   She knows exactly how to frame her songwriting and her smooth, precise voice so that, even coming through speakers or earbuds, she creates a relationship with her listeners.  The result is a thing of beauty that travels through past, present and future. Time Travel is a spare four [Read More]

Vattica release thought provoking new video for Air-Conditioned Life

December 23, 2014

Rockers from Hollywood,  Vattica have just released a new video for their song, Air-Conditioned Life.  The  band says, “the new video which focuses on the issues of wealth inequality, class warfare, racial profiling, the ever-growing police state and  was made as a commentary to the dark times we live in.”  Check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3sJViTQcF8 I know to the youth of today may feel that we are faced with heavy and dark times, but with each generation we all had experienced tumultuous times and often feared the world we lived in. I can recall the uncertainty of growing up in the Cold War era of the 80’s and wondering what kind of world we lived in back then. My father would tell us stories of the Depression and living through the World Wars. One thing is for sure, anytime we have faced dark times, the gift of music has been there to comfort us, ignite us with a passion to make a change or to just bring a much needed break from everything. It seems that [Read More]
