Hard rockers Emphatic signs to Pavement Entertainment and are set to release their new album in late 2014.  “With some welcomed changes that have occurred with Emphatic, we felt it necessary to get back into the studio and make an album that reflects the current vision of the band” states guitarist Justin McCain who will also be producing the new album. “We are excited about this new opportunity and look forward to the road ahead“. Emphatic has had great success with their albums  “Damage” and “Another Life”, along with 4 singles charting in the top 40 active rock charts. We are excited to see what this new album will bring and I am sure they will not disappoint in giving us another heavy dose of hard rock! The band has suffered through some changes in its past but according to Pavement’s Director of A&R Tim King, “Any band that has longevity and is in it for the long haul had to suffer through ups and downs. Our featured Bottle Rock Napa Band of the Day is an all time fave of mine: Gin Blossoms

March 19, 2014

Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Gin Blossoms. Gin Blossoms has been one of my all time favorite bands and always reminds me of summertime.  I probably think of summer since I remember having my favorite Gin Blossoms Dusted cassette playing on my long summer drives back and forth to LA. I must have worn out that Cassette that summer of 1990. I remember playing them long before my friends hopped on board in 1991/1992 as they re-recorded several of the songs after signing to A&M Records and instantly grew in popularity. Gin Blossoms’ songs are always catchy, fun and carefree. The perfect backdrop for any band. Their music has been described as alternative, melodic rock, pop, folk, and so much more. If I was to describe it I would say Gin Blossoms is like a fun in the sun summer day. If you could take the memories of good times spent with friends, young love, simply having a good time and feeling carefree; that is what Gin Blossoms sounds like. Of course, because [Read More]

March 19, 2014

There is a new band on the horizon that has me very excited. California Breed is the new powerhouse trio and it features the legendary vocals of Glenn Hughes, the spectacular drumming of Jason Bonham and introduces newcomer guitarist Andrew Watt. The band is set to release their self-titled debut album on May 20, 2014 on Frontier Records and was produced by Dave Cobb (Jamey Johnson, Rival Sons, Shooter Jennings and more) Get ready for this one!  “It’s proper rock,” Hughes told Classic Rock Magazine, “but at the same time it’s very now. Andrew is as influenced by Mick Ronson as he is Jimmy Page.” “This kid is amazing,” says Bonham. “The first time we met I thought he looked like the white Jimi Hendrix. And he plays in the studio likes he’s onstage!” Today California Breed releases single and video for their song, “Sweet Tea”. Check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vUay-lOjFk&feature=youtu.be]   Sweet Tea definitely kicks ass as it brings to life the big ’70s sounds of rock that we miss! March 18, 2014

We have all been waiting anxiously for the new album All You Can Eat by Steel Panther and the time is almost among us! Only two more weeks to go!!! Well, I have to tell you a secret, I got to hear the new album today and have to say one thing…….. HOLY BALLS! THIS ALBUM IS FUCKING AWESOME!! It has everything you could want in rock and metal from anthemic rock songs, arena size ballads, blazing guitars, great harmonies, power house drums, sexy bass lines and those 80s style vocals that we can’t get enough of. There are some bad ass guitar solos, smokin riffs, catchy choruses, I just can’t tell you how epic this album will be.  The songs are fun and infectious and you can’t help but love them. Definitely a party album for any night of the week.  If they had a panty meter for this album, it would be a full on soaking wet one for this new album!  We will have to watch out for the next baby boom [Read More]
