Trash The Brand gives us “Swamp Rock” that you have to hear!

November 9, 2013

I love my Rock-a-billy and I love my southern rock and soulful blues.  Well trio rockers, Trash The Brand from Jackson, Tennessee have created a new sound that will have you begging for more. They have been described as “Swamp Rock” and their music brings southern rock with sweet blues and is an instant hit.  The first time I heard their song, Devil’s Ride the vocals reminded me of Zakk Wylde and then you are treated to the bluesy rock that is sexy and invigorating. There may be only three in this band, but they have a big sound that is creating high energy rock in a soulful package. Scott Austin is on vocals and guitar, Scott Little on Bass and vocals and Steven Pulley on Drums. They have been garnering attention as they were recently chosen as Indie Band of the Week in RockRevolt Magazine as well as recently getting signed to Sent Majority Group. We are going to be bringing you an interview with Trash The Brand in the next couple weeks so [Read More]

Davey Suicide returns to DNA Lounge in San Francisco!

November 7, 2013

Last night was the first night of William Control’s “Revel Without a Cause” Tour.  Day 1 kicked off at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. First up was a great band from England, Fearless Vampire Killers and you can read more about them here. Next up was the shock rock act of Davey Suicide. They were playing in the upstairs of the DNA Lounge which always brings such challenges for bands with limited space and sound qualities. In addition this being the first night of the tour, they have yet to iron out the kinks in their set but that in no way stopped them from delivering a 150% performance. Their dark atmospheric rock n roll wrapped in fine tuned electronics and engaging lyrics had everyone fired up and ready for more. Davey Suicide is on Vocals, Drayven Davidson kills it on drums, Ashes tears it up on guitar and Brent Ashley plays some crunchy bass and provides backing vocals. You can check out a Tribute Video that Rockin Ryan  made which includes photos and [Read More]

November 7, 2013

Rockers Buckcherry have just released a new music video for their bad ass single, “Wrath” which is off of their “Confessions” album. This is definitely a rockin fight song. As Josh Todd says, “They say it’s the quiet ones you gotta look out for, you know why? Because they keep all their WRATH inside… This is a fight song, fuck the system or the system fucks you!”   Check out the video here:    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euvC-6OtO6c&feature=youtu.be]   A couple months back we say Buckcherry as they performed at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento and we had a chance to talk with Stevie D. backstage and here is that video for you: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0YAPmNMDr8&feature=youtu.be]   If you don’t have it yet,  make sure to pick up their latest album, “Confessions” and you can even pick up some merch bundle packs here. Fearless Vampire Killers and their first US show ever!

November 7, 2013

Last night was the first night of William Control’s “Revel Without a Cause” Tour. Their first show was held upstairs at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco. Opening for William Control, was British theatrical Alternative Rock band Fearless Vampire Killers, and it was my first time seeing them. They were amazing. This was their first show ever in the United States and they really won over the crowd instantly. Fearless Vampire Killers are Kier Kemp and Laurence Beveridge (co-vocalists), Cyrus Barrone (guitar), Drew Woolnough (bass) and Luke Illingworth (drums). Playing upstairs at the DNA lounge, always provides quite a bit of challenges for the band with space and sound, not to mention being the first night of their tour. So usually the first night is when you iron all the kinks out.  But that didn’t matter to these five guys. They came out and performed with fierce intensity and their songs pumped the crowd right up.  You can describe their look as a blend of steam punk with gothic and horror punk, whatever you call it, they [Read More]

Join RED9 in the making of their new music video!

November 5, 2013

I remember the first time I saw Red9. They were personally chosen by Slash to open for him at his Los Angeles Wiltern show in 2012. They were incredible. Red9 is a Southern California rock trio. Just because there are only 3, does not mean they do not deliver a huge sound! These guys are a powerhouse of rock and adrenaline. Then earlier this year, they released their CD “Under Dark Skies” and it KICKED ASS! You can read my review of their CD here. Well, here we are in November and they are ready to make a video for their song, Ignoramus off their CD. I can only imagine what they will do that song. It is great, it has a dark edgy sound with an exuberant build up.   They have just announced a Kickstarter campaign to fund their Official  Video. They had great success with their first music video “Fanatico” that included an Orange County Music Award nomination for best music video. So head over to their Kickstarter page and see how you can [Read More]

NiteRain from Norway is our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week

November 5, 2013

This week, I have incredible ’80s inspired rock band from Oslo, Norway as our Tuesdays Travels Pick.  They are NiteRain and they have an amazing sound. Their music reminds me of catching early Motley Crue out on the Sunset Strip in the ’80s.  Early Vince Neil style vocals, Kick ass guitar riffs, slamming bass and energetic drums. Together you have the intense rock n roll of NiteRain. Check out this teaser from NiteRain: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOXdSgPJf6U&feature=youtu.be]   NiteRain is Adrien Persen on Guitar, Sebastian Tvedtnaes on Vocals, Morten Garberg on Drums and Frank Karlsen on Bass. They have been known to have explosive stage presence and deliver high velocity sleaze rock. These guys are definitely in the running to take over the glam sleaze rock scene! They have had great success in touring with L.A. Guns across Europe and we hope they come out here to the US soon. Their glam infused rock is just as contagious as their fierce energy and is something we need. NiteRain is releasing their album Crossfire on November 15th worldwide and [Read More]
