Volbeat photo and video highlights from Aftershock

October 28, 2013

Aftershock Festival was amazing with over 30+ bands in the two days and over 35,000 attendees. Many of those fans were there to see the amazing show that Volbeat put on. I have seen Volbeat five times but this was the first time that I got to see Rob Caggiano play with them. It was an awesome set and they sounded so spot on! They played my favorites Fallen, A Warrior’s Call and my new favorite, Lola Montez. I just love that song soooo much. Check out the video that Rockin Ryan made of “A Warrior’s Call” set to footage and photos from their Aftershock set. One thing is for sure, when Volbeat performs, you really feel the energy from the crowd as well as the band. They create such an intensity that you just can’t help but be drawn to them. It was great to see people who had never seen them before, enjoy the show and called it one of their Festival highlights! Make sure you have your copy of “Outlaw Gentlemen and [Read More]

Louna is cancelled from MTV Documentary Series, “Rebel Music”

October 28, 2013

We have some news to report relating to one of our recent Tuesdays Travels pick, Louna. Also, I must tell you I carry my Louna CD from car to car wherever I go. It is one of my favorite CDs and we have all been rocking out to it since we saw them earlier this month in San Francisco as they played with Heaven’s Basement and The Pretty Reckless. Louna is such an amazing band of talented musicians who not only produce excellent rock n roll and recently were going to be part of the MTV Documentary Series, “Rebel Music”. They were going to have a worldwide platform to share their music and what they stand for.  One thing is for sure, this band is so deserving of the feature and they are incredibly talented and deserve to be heard but unfortunately, that will not be so. It was reported today that Louna’s Inclusion in Forthcoming MTV Documentary Series “Rebel Music” Cancelled by Viacom Due to International Pressure from Russia.  We wanted to share with you [Read More]

Interview with Raz Klinghoffer of EarlyRise

October 28, 2013

Earlier this month, we brought to you an interview with Ben Draiman, younger brother of David Draiman of Disturbed and Device. During that interview Ben credited Raz Klinghoffer of EarlyRise and how he gave him great advice with his spectacular cover of Disturbed’s “Stricken”. You can read that interview here: Raz Klinghoffer definitely knows how to do a cover song and make it magical. Raz and his band EarlyRise took Korn’s “Narcissistic Cannibal” and made an incredibly powerful version that is literally breathtaking. Orly Lari’s vocals remind me of a cross between Haley Williams and Cristina Scabbia, two amazing female artists. You can check out the song here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywhvj7UaDHo&feature=youtu.be] EarlyRise currently has their debut album, “What If” out and is filled with dynamic songs that bring such depth to their music as they have succeeded in what they set out to do, “set out on a unique journey, mixing the poetic side of music with the edgier side of rock”. It is definitely a CD to treasure, complete with emotionally driven lyrics, energetic melodies, and much [Read More]

HALESTORM Photos from Aftershock Festival

October 26, 2013

We are still working on all of Aftershock coverage from last month!! Can you believe it? Well there were soooo  many bands and a lot to cover. One of those bands was Halestorm, who is a long time favorite of ours. We have seen them probably about a half dozen times and they never disappoint!  I describe Halestorm as my ear porn, it is too good to be true and you almost feel guilty for listening! At Aftershock, they were inredible, always delivering high energy and have such fierce stage presence!  You can check out the photos from their set in this tribute video from Rockin Ryan. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGyZh6m0Tko&feature=youtu.be]   They are currently touring overseas and we can’t wait to catch them when they come around again. Make sure to check out their social media sites and pick up their latest release, “ReAniMate 2.0 The Covers EP. ~Marisol Information & Links:  Halestorm Facebook:     www.facebook.com/halestormrocks Halestorm Website:  www.halestormrocks.com Halestorm Twitter:   www.twitter.com/halestorm

Midnight Cinema new EP Midnight Demos 2013 is OUT NOW!

October 24, 2013

I know it was only a few months ago that I told you about Midnight Cinema‘s last EP and that one was amazing. You can read about it here. Well how about more incredible new music from these talented guys? They  just released earlier this week, Midnight Demos 2013 which is available on Itunes here.  It is filled with another 5 AMAZING songs. It started right off with Back to the Butterflies and I was instantly drawn into this catchy sweet tune that will have you singing along in no time.  Edge of the Earth is that uplifting song that will just help you to take you that next scary step in whatever you struggle with. It really has heartfelt lyrics and it just might be my favorite song for quite a while. Sooner or Later, Perfect Stranger and Someday Never Came deliver again lyrics that can speak to anyone about a variety of things. That is what I love about their music. You can listen to it and feel a personal connection to each [Read More]

Framing Hanley release three FREE songs!

October 24, 2013

Framing Hanley has been hard at work on their album “The Sum of Who We Are” which was funded entirely by their fanbase via a Kickstarter campaign. The album has taken a bit longer than they had anticipated and due to the delay they are treating their fans to three FREE songs that you can get from their website www.framinghanley.com Vocalist Nixon explains, First and foremost, our incredible fans are the reason it’s even possible. They funded the entire thing on Kickstarter. That is still unbelievable to us. Every band says that they feel like they’re getting better with the years.  So while I feel that’s a trite statement, I can’t deny it. We’ve never written as much material for an album as we did for this one. We had to cut so many songs that we felt were strong.  We also recorded songs for the album that we felt weren’t ‘there’ yet only to go back to the drawing board and get it right.  This record from start to finish will be all that we [Read More]
