Austin Winkler back on stage performing with Camp Freddy at the Roxy

We know that it was hard for all of us when we first heard the news of Austin Winkler‘s departure from Hinder but we were excited to know that he was going to continue on with his music career. You can read more on our previous post here. Austin has been sharing posts on Instagram and Twitter letting us know about his new musical venture and has been hard at work on it. I am elated to hear that and guess what, last night Austin joined Camp Freddy on stage at the Roxy in Hollywood. I can KICK MYSELF since Rockin Ryan and I had plans to go to a couple of the Camp Freddy shows this week but family emergencies prevailed and fires had to be put out. Day 5 of 12 Days of Guitarists goes to Xander Demos

Here we go on Day 5 of the 12 Days of Guitarists and we are pleased to bring you shredder extraordinaire Xander Demos! Xander is one shredder that will have you in awe of his playing. Day 8 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to BlackRain

Let’s get down and dirty for Day 8 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. How about some French glam rockers, BlackRain for Day 8?? These bad ass rockers first started in 2006 and quickly rose to fame in Europe and have become one of the most noted French rock bands. You have Swan on Vocals and Guitars, Max on lead guitar and Mat on Bass and Frank on Drums. The first time I heard BlackRain is when my son Rockin Ryan played Overloaded for me and I was instantly transformed back to my nights spent on the Sunset Strip in the ’80s. At first I thought I was listening to an old Motley Crue track!! Swan on vocals just blows you away with his powerful voice and he has perfected the high vocal ranges of the ’80s. Today on Day 5 of our 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to the bad ass rockers who were our featured band of Warped Tour 2013…. Delta Rose! These guys truly know how to bring the old school rock and roll back to life with their young vibrant personalities that you can’t help but fall in love with. They are also one of the hardest working bands out there. You can catch them playing shows on the Sunset Strip at The Viper Room or House of Blues where they truly belong. If you can imagine Sunset Strip back in the ’80s and all the great rock bands during that time, well Delta Rose definitely channels those bands as they bring their energy and high spirited stage antics to life when they perform live. Day 3 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know is Whisky Blood

Today we are celebrating Day 3 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. I have a kick ass rock band for you from London; Whisky Blood. They describe themselves as playing, ‘STRAIGHT UP, NO BULLSHIT, ROCK N’ ROLL!” Believe me, when you take a listen, you will definitely agree with them. I love them. Whisky Blood is Jamie Sloane on Vocals, Guitar, Paul Kixx on Guitar, and Vincent Velazco on Drums. They are currently in the process of finding a permanent bassist. These guys deliver an upgraded version of ’80s rock to life and are the complete package with their 80’s inspired looks, and spot on rock n’ roll. State Line Empire to play at the Whisky’s 50th Anniversary Party!

One of the hardest working bad ass rock bands of California is set to play the legendary Whisky-a-Go-Go’s 50th Anniversary Party. That band is one of my favorite bands, State Line Empire! The best part is the party is on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 right during the NAMM 2014 show. We will be down there busy covering the NAMM show and checking out the latest and greatest in the music industry so it will be a long week. The highlight will be seeing State Line Empire on Saturday!
