Make sure to pick up the new album, Shapeshifter by The Dead Rabbitts

June 30, 2014

The highly anticipated release of the new album, Shapeshifter by The Dead Rabbitts is set for tomorrow July 1st through Tragic Hero Records.  This is one album, you are going to want to pick up.  We were excited to catch them as they made their stop in San Francisco last week for the Shapeshift Tour! They treated us to several of their new songs which were just awesome. The album starts right off with the heavy and crowd favorite My Only Regret. I love it’s cinematic style intro and then transitions into a fierce heavy dose of vocals and then right into a catchy chorus. Nothing But a Reject is a bad ass track complete with emotionally driven lyrics and one of the highlights is the ethereal choir style harmony. Craig’s vocals are so versatile and he captivates you with his powerful voice. Another great song is  Makes Me Believe it which features Caleb Shomo. The album is filled with savage doses of metalcore  as in Shapeshifter or Bats in the Belfry complete with infectious melodies, fierce [Read More]

Ashley Xtina new EP Stability will bring harmony to your heart

June 27, 2014

I love how the simple act of listening to music can bring out a range of emotions or even bring a particular memory to surface. I love when a musician can connect so well to the listener that their words and visions intertwine with the each other. Tonight, I experienced just that when I listened to the new EP Stability by Ashley Xtina. Four amazingly well written songs that are not only emotionally driven but complete capture the listener and transports them to another place. The vocal range and execution by Ashley is gratifying. Her voice can transition from powerful to vulnerable, from mysterious to sultry and so much more. The first track So Sorry has a soothing almost ethereal intro and then you are greeted with the crisp and heartfelt lyrics of Ashley. It’s honest and raw lyrics can provide a source of comfort for so many as they can connect to the song. The piano intro on Angel creates the perfect dramatic backdrop for Ashley‘s passionate vocals. Once again tender lyrics are sung [Read More]

Check out the double vocal dose with Myka Relocate on the Shapeshift Tour!

June 25, 2014

Last night we were at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco for the Dead Rabbitts Shapeshift Tour. You can check out our coverage of the Dead Rabbitts here and Nightmares here and we will bringing you The Relapse Symphony too. For now, let me tell you about the great set by Myka Relocate. Myka Relocate is a six piece metalcore rock band from Houston. Together they delivered a stellar set that had you enjoying the screams of metalcoree amid the clean vocals. They are the perfect blend and almost remind me of an offspring of Sleeping With Sirens, The Word Alive and Consider Me Dead. In  no way does the band imitate since they have successfully created their own sound and has everyone taking notice. While it is heavy, they still deliver electronic elements and catchy melodies. Myka Relocate is: John Ritter: Vocals Michael Swank: Vocals Luke Burleigh: Bass Austin Dore’; Guitar Josh Peltier: Guitar Aaron Robertson: Drums They are brimming with energy and took control of the crowd instantly. There might not have been a packed house, [Read More]

Check out Nightmares on the Shapeshift Tour with Dead Rabbitts

June 25, 2014

Last night we were at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco for the Dead Rabbitts Shapeshift Tour. You can check out our coverage of the Dead Rabbitts here.  The night started off with a fierce heavy set by Nightmares from Atlanta, GA. This five piece band has a great heavy style that blends some rock into their metal. Nightmares is: Carter Hardin: Vocals Mike Smith: Guitar Jimmy Griffin: Guitar Turner Wood: Bass David Angle: Drums They were great and one of my favorite songs was the brutally intense Cujo. That is such a bad ass track and is off of their album, Suspiria. You can pick up the album at their upcoming shows or head over to iTunes here. Check out the photos by Rockin Ryan of their set here: So check the dates below and see if the Shapeshift tour is coming to a venue near you. In addition to Nightmares, the awesome lineup a killer headlining set by  Dead Rabbitts, straight up rockin set by The Relapse Symphony and a dual vocal metal [Read More]

Catch A Skylit Drive on Warped Tour and check out Jag cooking up his signature dish!

June 25, 2014

Tomorrow we are excited to be returning to cover Vans Warped Tour in Wheatland, CA. One of the bands we have on our Must See list is A Skylit Drive. Every time they perform, they deliver a 150% adrenaline filled set.  I wonder where they get all the energy from, they must have turbo Wheaties! I bet it comes from having Jag’s signature dish of Dark Chocolate French Toast. Want to know what I am talking about? Check out the Digital Tour Bus “Cooking at 65 MPH” video as it features Jag’s whipping up his dish. Check it out here:   That is so awesome! We are going to have to try that. Make sure to check out the recipe which is listed in the video information. That is a perfect recipe on and off the road to enjoy.  If you don’t have it already have it, pick up their album, RISE on iTunes and crank up some of my favorite songs like Crazy or Unbreakable. Trivium is our Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest Featured Band of the Day

June 25, 2014

We are counting down the days to Rockstar Mayhem Fest  coming to the Bay Area at the Shoreline Amphitheater on July 6th. We are looking forward to all the great bands and today we wanted to put our spotlight on one of the amazing bands on the lineup. Today our featured band of the day is Trivium. Trivium is an awesome band live since they can replicate their studio sound impeccably. These guys come out blazing and don’t stop until they step off that stage. Stage presence is spectacular as their energy is just non stop. Matt Heafy on Guitar and Lead Vocals is definitely a crowd pleaser. Then you can’t stop going back and forth to watch madman Corey Beaulieu terrorize his Jackson Guitars and Paolo Gregoletto kills it on his B.C. Rich custom bass. What a show they promise to bring to this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Fest.     Their  album “Vengeance Falls” has consistently been getting incredible high marks and reviews! It was produced by another one of my fave musicians David Draiman and every song [Read More]
