Tom Keifer releases video for The Flower Song

December 2, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song. Today Tom released the video for The Flower Song which is one of my favorites off his album. You can check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u68tl82Ihmk&feature=youtu.be]   We also had the opportunity to interview Tom earlier this year and are pleased to repost that interview for you  here: * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Hi Tom, Thank you for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music [Read More]

Kyng gives San Francisco a dose of rock and roll

December 1, 2013

Earlier this week, the Hell Pop tour came in to  San Francisco and on the bill was All Hail the Yeti, Kyng, Motionless in White and In This Moment. One of the highlights of the night was Kyng. The last time I saw Kyng was when they played the Dean NAMM Jam which is typically filled with buyers, distributors, vendors, artists and not your typical rock audience but Kyng killed it that night. Despite the audience who many remained in their seats, we were standing up and rocking out and enjoying every minute of it! This time, they were playing at The Regency Ballroom and they came out and delivered another high energy filled set. These three guys truly create a powerful sound and you can’t help but rock out in full fist in the air, headbanging style. You have Tony Castaneda killing it on Bass and Backing Vocals, madman Pepe Clarke on Drums and fierce Eddie Veliz on Guitar and Lead Vocals. Their adrenaline becomes infectious and soon you are just in full KICK ASS ROCK MODE! They [Read More]

French Metal band DAGOBA takes over San Francisco!

November 26, 2013

WOW! I know I told you about DAGOBA coming to San Francisco to open up for returning metal band, Dir En Grey but you can’t believe how awesome they were!  I have been looking forward to seeing DAGOBA live since we have been playing a lot of their heavy songs from their latest album, LP “Post Mortem Nihil Est.” It was recently released here in the US only a couple weeks ago and on Sunday night they came to The Regency Ballroom on the Ghoul 2013 Tour with Dir En Grey.  We had the opportunity to interview Shawter, composer and singer for DAGOBA and here is that interview: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RM9l9-p-PQ&feature=youtu.be]   They really came out and put on an amazing show. They have excellent stage presence and this was their first time playing in San Francisco. Dir En Grey has a very tight following and it was awesome to see how DAGOBA won over the crowd.  They even got them to do the Wall of Death, Mosh pits, Circle pits and more. The energy was fierce and [Read More]

Tonight Alive return to San Francisco for a stellar performance!

November 18, 2013

Australian rockers, Tonight Alive returned to San Francisco last night for their “The Other Side” tour show at Slim’s.  They were here last year as they opened for Pierce the Veil but this time the show was all theirs as part of their U.S. headlining tour in support of their new album, “The Other Side”. One thing is for sure, they put on a stellar performance that is filled with high energy and created a crowd camaraderie that cannot be rivaled. Tonight Alive‘s music is filled with empowering and uplifting lyrics as well as songs that people can emotionally connect to.  Jenna McDougall, frontwoman, has been quoted before as saying, ““A lot of people have said that we saved their lives and that our music got them through really difficult times. To be that band for people is amazing because it was music that got us through difficult times ourselves. The band’s message is about not living in the fear of other people’s judgement, not being held back by other people’s opinions, about having self-worth. [Read More]
