14 Bands that will rule 2014

Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule in 2014! #14 goes to Monster Truck!

December 11, 2013

Today we start a very new special countdown for the end of the year. Now is the time when we countdown the 14 bands that we think will rule in 2014.  We start at number 14 with Monster Truck! Hailing from Ontario, Canada these guys are true to form rockers. What started as a formation of musicians from various Canadian Indie bands, quickly gained momentum and the attention that they deserved.  This past year I was first introduced to Monster Truck and instantly fell in love with them.  They have successfully revived my love for vintage rock blended with groove filled bass, stellar riffs, thundering drums and powerful vocals. What more can you ask for? Monster Truck is Jon Harvey on Bass and Vocals, Brandon Bliss on Keys and Vocals, Steve Kiely on Drums and Vocals and Jeremy Widerman on Guitar and Vocals. Together these four guys deliver well crafted and seasoned rock n roll. Monster Truck took home the 2013 Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of The Year which is no surprise to me.  Earlier this year, they released a [Read More]

Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week for Rock is CURRAN from UK

December 10, 2013

For our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week, I am excited to bring you CURRAN from the UK. They have an awesome rock n roll sound that will have you hooked from the first listen.  CURRAN is Mark Curran on Vocals, Mat Anthony  on Guitar, Dean Roberts on Rhythm Guitar,  Enrico Terella on Bass and Kris Rich on Drums. Check out their video for their song, “Run Back to You” [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CSMCuAWGPk&feature=youtu.be]   I just love that song. It has such a bluesy rock vibe and the vocals remind me of one of my all-time favorite vocalists, Tom Keifer.  It has a great build up on the intro that is perfect for a stadium show. I love the gritty guitars and the solos are bad ass.  I bet you want more? NO!! I KNOW YOU WANT MORE!! So check out their other video for their song, “My Love Won’t Let You Down” [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPHAp6IYXcU&feature=youtu.be]   They are just incredible and I can only imagine how awesome they would be to see live. If only I could travel to the UK [Read More]

In This Moment delivers another spectacular performance for Hell Pop Tour

December 3, 2013

Last week, we had the pleasure of covering the Hell Pop Tour with All Hail The Yeti, Kyng, Motionless in White and In This Moment. From the first time I heard In This Moment, I fell in love with them. This was the sixth time covering their show and they never cease to amaze me with their performance.  When you see In This Moment, is not just like seeing a band on stage with their backdrop, etc. is a production like no other and you can’t help but be adrenalized by it! In This Moment has Maria Brink on vocals and she has excellent stage presence. For the first time I saw her live, I haddubbed her the Metal Version of Lady Gaga, she just has a presence that you can’t ignore. Her vocals are spot on and is definitely a crowd pleaser. Then you look to each side of Maria and you are blown away by the guitarists; Chris Howorth on Lead guitar, Randy Weitzel on guitar and Travis Johnson who reminds my son [Read More]

Tom Keifer releases video for The Flower Song

December 2, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song. Today Tom released the video for The Flower Song which is one of my favorites off his album. You can check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u68tl82Ihmk&feature=youtu.be]   We also had the opportunity to interview Tom earlier this year and are pleased to repost that interview for you  here: * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Hi Tom, Thank you for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music [Read More]
