Countdown of 14 Bands That Will Rule 2014, #2 goes to Steel Panther!

December 23, 2013

We made it to the #2 Spot and it is time to have some F**KING FUN with our Rock N Roll!! So for #2 I bring you Steel Panther!  2014 is going to be a very big year for Steel Panther. They are set to release their highly anticipated new album, “All You Can Eat“. Steel Panther fans or should I say Fanthers, have been anxiously waiting for new music to follow up their highly successful last album, Balls Out. Some may only know Steel Panther as a parody band personifying the glam/metal lifestyles of the ’80s but you may know that they are DAMN talented musicians. Michael Starr on Vocals has one of the best vocal ranges and his high notes will have you thinking you are on the Sunset Strip in 1985. Lexxi Foxxx pounds out some slamming bass as he whips his hair and primps in the mirror. Satchel on guitar embodies a true Guitar God, with the moves, stage presence and he KICKS ASS on the guitar. His solo will have [Read More]

Countdown of 14 Bands That Will Rule 2014, #4 goes to The Pretty Reckless

December 21, 2013

We are in the # 4 spot on our Countdown of Bands that will rule in 2014 and the honor goes to The Pretty Reckless.  They are on fire right now and their highly anticipated full length album, “Going To Hell”  hasn’t even been released. They have had great success this year with a couple of their singles off their new album and had a successful Going To Hell fall tour so far. We had the opportunity to catch them on their Going To Hell tour when they stopped in San Francisco at Slim’s.  One thing is for sure The Pretty Reckless has amazing stage presence and their songs are so damn good. Taylor Momsen has stated in the past that her musical influences are Kurt Cobain and Joan Jett and that is exactly what you get with her! She has this amazing grunge style with this rockin attitude and knows how to work the crowd.  Ben Phillips on lead guitar and backing vocals was spot on and had some incredible guitar licks and cool slide. Countdown of 14 bands that will rule 2014! #10 goes to Beware of Darkness

December 15, 2013

Here we are at the #10 spot, counting down the 14 bands that we think will rule 2014. Today for hot spot Number 10, we bring you Beware of Darkness. This band just exploded on to the scene this year and there is definitely no slowing them down.  Beware of Darkness was formed in 2010 by singer/guitarist Kyle Nicolaides and drummer Tony Cupito. They added bassist Daniel Curcio and they became a well rounded powerful trio. In 2013, they released their debut album Orthodox and their song Howl seemed to become one of everyone’s favorite new song including mine.  I remember the first time I heard it was when I was listening to the MusicChoice channel on cable. I was writing and the song came on, I almost stumbled out of my chair to race over and make sure I could find out what the song was. From that moment, many months ago,  we were pleased to hear it being played on Octane XM, Sixx Sense, radio and much more. You can pick up Orthodox on Itunes [Read More]

Day 2 of Guitarists goes to Sid Glover of Heaven’s Basement

December 15, 2013

Today is Day 2 of our Guitarists and we are proud to bring you Sid Glover of Heaven’s Basement. Sid is a madman on his Gibson.  We saw Sid a couple times this year and he just doesn’t disappoint.  Heaven’s Basement quickly rose to fame in the States this year and we couldn’t wait to see Sid play live at Aftershock Festival in September. It was our first time seeing them and it was awesome to see them play the big Monster stage.  Read more about their Aftershock performance here. In October we had the opportunity to see Heavens Basement play a smaller venue  in San Francisco when they opened up for The Pretty Reckless. It was a packed house at Slim’s and it was a stellar evening that included Louna from Russia and the whole night was amazing! Here is a video interview we did with Sid and Aaron from Heaven’s Basement when they played in San Francisco. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlAhyqICUQM&feature=youtu.be]   Heaven’s Basement truly has an incredible electrifying stage presence. These four guys give a [Read More]

Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014! 11 goes to We As Human

December 14, 2013

We are counting down the top 14 bands that we think will rule 2014. Today is our day 11 and we are pleased to present We As Human for that honor. We As Human have had quite a successful year with the release of their self titled debut album and toured extensively in 2013. This year was the first time I heard We As Human and they really became the talk of the scene and within weeks everyone was getting to know their name. We were excited to catch them at the Aftershock Festival where they started the festival off with a kick ass in your face set. They were the first band of the day and everyone was rushing to get in to check them out after they hit the stage and played the first notes of their song. The crowd loved them and many came in not knowing who We As Human were, but left Aftershock with We As Human being one of their top festival highlights.  You can read our show review [Read More]
