The Word Alive – Munich – Technikum – January 30th, 2018 Not a headliner show this time. The Word Alive were opening for Falling In Reverse. But no matter what, the band always gives it their all. Clearly their fanbase is growing in Germany, because parts of the audience seem to have been there only to watch them play. Currently they are working on a new record, which will be released this year and with a bit of luck, Germany will see the band live again this year. Architects, While She Sleeps, Counterparts – Munich – Tonhalle – January 29th, 2018 Architects played another sold-out show in Munich. Actually, most of their tours lately are almost sold out in Europe as well as in the US. This tour the band brought UK based band While She Sleeps and Counterparts from Canada along. While She Sleeps:   Counterparts: Both opening bands won the crowd over pretty fast. A good warm-up for an awesome headliner. Architects made an impact from the first to the last song. Sound, lighting and pyros were on spot. They are still heavily influenced by the loss of their guitarist and main song writer Tom Searle in 2016. Not one show goes by, where they don’t mention how he was and still is a big part of the band. Every show is dedicated to the friend and brother they lost. Architects: A few months ago Architects released a new song called ‘Doomsday’. It was well received by the fans and by now the song has over well over 10 million views [Read More]

Concert review: Of Mice And Men, Chelsea Grin, Motionless In White and The Devil Wears Prada. By Alex Bock

June 26, 2017

Wörgl, Komma, June 20st, 2017 It’s summer and it’s festival season. Hundreds of bands are swarming the country and contrary to some years it’s also the perfect weather. During all those big weekend filling events a tour announcement came a few months ago that was kinda surprising, because for one it was only a really small tour (three dates), they only hit smaller venues and it was an awesome combination – Of Mice And Men, Chelsea Grin, Motionless In White and The Devil Wears Prada. Since there was no German date for this line-up I decided to visit my friends in the neighborhood and drove to Wörgl, a small town in Austria, not too far away from the German/Austrian border. First time I’ve been to this venue and I really liked it. It’s a two-story building with entrance, bar and merch on the first floor and the big room with the stage on the second floor. Perfect division. If you want to chill even in-between shows, you can grab a drink downstairs and have a [Read More]

Ready for some fun time punk music? Here you go. Italian based punk rock band Sunset Radio just released their first full-length record ‘Vices’. The band started out in 2016 and released their first EP that same year. Think about California punk rock from the 90’s with influences ranging from hardcore to modern melodic punk-rock. This sums up the bands’ sound. Check out their latest song/video release for the song ‘Surrounded’ Track list: 01 Home 02 Surrounded 03 Heart and Sand 04 Upside Down 05 My Summer 06 Bed of Roses 07 Nothing To Lose 08 Stoned And Confused 09 Older 10 Bed Of Roses (Acoustic) Here’s how the band describes the sound of ‘Vices’ From 20 to 30 years, No Use For A Name, Lagwagon, NoFx, Blink182, Bad Religion, Beach, California, girls, parties, each of these things can be summarized with one word for us: ‘Vices’. The album contains each of the above mentioned words, which accompany us every day. Concert review: Attila, The Word Alive and Carcer City by Alex Bock

April 30, 2017

Munich, Backstage Halle, April 25th, 2017 Another night in my 2nd living room… only one of the venues was occupied that night, the Halle and I was heading there to see Attila with special guests The Word Alive and Carcer City. Opening band was Carcer City. They’re a five piece from the UK, signed to Stay Sick Recordings (Chris Fronzak’s label). Their sounds is probably nothing really new, but what new band can create something that hasn’t been there before? Never the less, they played a good live set. Even though at the beginning the venue wasn’t that packed, they managed to get the people closer to the stage and mosh to the music. The Word Alive and Attila both played an almost equally long set. Looking at the people, both bands seem to share the same audience, because there were many people in Attila shirts singing and jumping along during The Word Alive’s set and vice versa. The Word Alive played a set list with a mix of new songs like ‘Misery’ and [Read More]
