Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Artist is Ben Sollee. This year’s Bottle Rock lineup has such a variety of music to enjoy and I hope that everyone will take the time to take it all in and enjoy the gift of music. Ben Sollee is just that, an amazingly talented cellist and singer who delivers his gift of music through soulful folk songs. His music can range from soft and sweet to fun and upbeat. He is a definite treasure in this year’s lineup. Ben grew up in Kentucky where he began playing the cello in fourth grade. Music was always surrounding him as his parents encouraged him in his art. H quickly grew into a spectacular songwriter and would bring his music to life on his cello. He is exceptional at creating depth in his musical elements and his folk songs dance off the notes and tones. You will be wildly captivated by him. Grass Child is our Bottle Rock Napa 2014 Featured Band of the Day

Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Grass Child. Grass Child are one of the local favorites that have been added to this year’s lineup. They bring a fresh new sound of rock/ska/funk/groove/blues to life. What is amazing about this band is their versatility in combining a wide range of influences into their own personal sound that demands to be heard. Ed Kowalczyk is our Bottle Rock Napa 2014 Featured Artist of the Day

Today we have a very special treat for the featured artist/band of the day. It is Ed Kowalczyk (former lead singer and founding member of LIVE) and he is going to bring his stellar voice to Bottle Rock Napa 2014! I still remember the first time I heard the amazing voice of Ed, it was back in the ’91/’92 and as usual, I went out in search of live bands on a Friday night. My group of friends and I went to the Paradise Lounge and the DNA Lounge in San Francisco and LIVE was just about to perform there. I remember getting up and going right to the front of the stage and watching the entire set in awe of that amazing voice. Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Empires. From the first time I listened to Empires, I was taken back to the nightlife of the ’90s as I would go club hopping and enjoy grunge, alternative, and mod. It was a time for you to feel the music and literally have it take over you. Empires are an Indie Alternative band from Chicago that do just that. You can’t help but listen to them and be “in the moment”. Fantastic songwriting, blended with grunge vibes, alternative style, and stirring vocals make this band have the winning combination Empires was formed in 2008 and have successfully two full-length albums, two EPs, and one 7″ single. They are set to release their third full length album, Orphan and is being produced by John Congleton. They have released a video of their new song that is having everyone excited for this new album. Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is Delta Rae. Delta Rae are an Americana folk rock sextet band that is an amazing vocal and instrument ensemble. These six ( three siblings and three friends) who come together and bring a fresh new sound to Americana. Their music can show influences of folk-pop, southern rock, country, soul-rock. You can’t just place them into a category since their music transcends the boundaries and has everyone listening and enjoying them. Their soul touching music has emotionally driven lyrics that can paint pictures and stories of their relationships and the words come to life as they dance in the music. Today we start our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band and for today we bring you The Soft White Sixties. The Soft White Sixties from San Francisco are bringing a great soulful rock sound to the music scene that you have to take a listen to. Their style blends many of their influences from Soul, Rock and Roll, pop, R & B and have successfully fused it together in a contemporary sound. They have been gaining a lot of well deserved attention and are becoming well known for their spectacular live shows. They just completed performing 11 shows in 3 days for the SXSW 2014. I am very excited to see this band on the lineup for Bottle Rock Napa 2014.
