Los Angeles. I have talked here about the “Canadian Invasion” – the flow of talented musicians from Canada to the US that seems to be a permanent fixture of the music scene in both countries.  We have interviewed many of them here – Maggie Szabo, Olivia Penalva and the band YUCA are three that come to mind.  Recently I was introduced to the music of another Canadian, Kalsey Kulyk. Kulyk is from a tiny town on the Hudson Bay of 1500 souls, but her talent is much, much bigger.  After a very rough bout with cancer and chemotherapy when she was 19, she moved to Las Vegas to work with famed record producer, Richard Dashut (Fleetwood Mac).  Dashut saw her potential and developed her style and sound so deftly that she landed a record deal with Phaymis Records. Jake Miller features his fans in his latest DIY video for Selfish Girls

Solo Artist Glenn Symmonds premieres new video for Santa Fe

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”  That quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson has always been a favorite of mine. Solo artist Glenn Symmonds seems to be the perfect example of the quote as he has been making his own path with his music after a lineup change in the Eddie Money Band.  Glenn has not only been an exceptional drummer but he is quite a talented singer, songwriter, and all around musician and has an extensive catalog of his solo work. Glenn recently released a music video for his song, Santa Fe which he explains more about the song, The song was written about a family vacation riding the rails… I’m the son of a hobo after all. Liz Brennan will truly captivate you with her powerful emotive vocals

Liz Brennan is an Austin based singer songwriter and she has one of those voices that will grab a hold of you from the first listen. She reminds me of a modern day Laura Branigan delivering a blend of alternative and 80’s pop with a fresh new flair.  Her powerful vocals are inviting and emotive and take you on a musical journey of emotions.   Panic! at the Disco has us rejoicing with their new video for Hallelujah. I will tell you, I have been having a rough morning struggling to balance life with kids home from school, work and tending to my mother’s increased dementia/Parkinsons. It was one of those mornings where I just want to scream out but instead I put on the new song from Panic! at the Disco and suddenly… all is right in the world.
