Prince Daddy & The Hyena share new song “Shoelaces”

April 5, 2022

There’s an unrelenting purpose behind every note of a Prince Daddy & The Hyena song, but there’s something different about the songs on their upcoming self-titled album, out next Friday, April 15th. Today the Albany, NY band shares “Shoelaces”, rounding out a trio of singles the band has been sharing since earlier in March, including “A Random Exercise In Impermanence (The Collector)” and “El Dorado“. “Shoelaces” bring listeners back to Kory Gregory’s rough-and-scruff vocal stylings that helped the band gain notoriety in the first place. Combined with the undeniable fullness of that hook (“good dreams scare me way more lately”), it still feels more controlled and intentional than anything the band has done before. It’s like the pieces to Prince Daddy’s puzzle are finally fitting into place… for now, at least. “Prince Daddy & The Hyena” comes out on April 15th and is currently available to pre-order from Pure Noise Records.   Tracklist: 1. Adore The Sun 2. A Random Exercise In Impermanence (The Collector) 3. Jesus Fucking Christ 4. Something Special 5. El Dorado [Read More]

Clutch release new single “Red Alert”

April 5, 2022

American groove rockers Clutch have released their new single and video titled “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)”. The track is available from all DSPs. Frontman and lyricist Neil Fallon explains: “In early 2021 I learned that the Boss Metal Zone pedal schematic was presented as ‘proof’ that the Covid-19 vaccine had an electronic component to communicate with 5G cellular networks. That was nonsense, of course. It sounded like a Philip K. Dick-story. I didn’t want to write a song specifically about Covid-19 vaccines, so I used Philip K. Dick (again). “Do Android’s Dream of Electric Sheep?” came to mind (particularly replicants showing what’s real and what’s not real, or is there even a difference?) The video makes no bones about the fact that it’s a homage to Philip K. Dick and a future, in which disturbance runs through our veins.” Drummer Jean-Paul Gaster adds, “‘Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)’ is one of the up-tempo tracks on our forthcoming album. The intensity of the recording reminds me of our live shows. This song is amazing and [Read More]

The Juliana Theory return with new song/video “Playback ’99 (Burn The Cassette Deck)”

April 4, 2022

Emo/alternative rock pioneers The Juliana Theory have returned with their new single and video “Playback ’99 (Burn the Cassette Deck)”, which will appear on their upcoming EP “Still The Same Kids” Pt.1 available on May 6th from Rude Records/Equal Vision Records. The new EP features 4 songs that fully embrace the strengths of the band’s catalog of underground anthems without sacrificing an ounce of who the duo is now. Truth be told, The Juliana Theory always owed as much to The Beatles as to Sunny Deal Real Estate, with shades and shimmers of everything from Depeche Mode and Tears For Fears to The Foo Fighters in their arsenal. The first in a series of 3 EP’s to be released between now and 2023 on RUDE/EVR, “Still The Same Kids” Pt.1 is a successor to the band’s 2021 reimagined album “A Dream Away”, which featured newly encapsulated versions of beloved songs from prior releases. On the creative impetus behind “Playback ’99 (Burn the Cassette Deck)”, frontman Brett Detar had this to say: “At a crossroads somewhere [Read More]

Void Of Vision announce new EP “Chronicles II: Heaven”

April 4, 2022

A visionary collective of potent light and shade, Melbourne’s Void Of Vision have cleared the darkness and are set to usher in a tantalizing new chapter in their bustling journey, announcing today a brand new upcoming EP “CHRONICLES II: HEAVEN” which will be released on Friday 29 April on UNFD. Following on from the group’s 2021 EP “CHRONICLES I: LUST”, this impending new Void Of Vision endeavour draws its ethereal namesake from the group’s new creative direction and sense of purpose; a sonic exhibition of finding heaven on earth laden with cinematic and ambitious flair alongside Void Of Vision’s blossoming razor-sharp trademark wiles. Continuing on from the pathway set out by “LUST” last year, “HEAVEN” embraces personal growth and experimentation in true Void Of Vision fashion; tones of melancholy and introspection still protrude throughout the new release, but are also anchored by some of the first love songs VOV have ever created. Gone is the idolisation of misery and pain, and instead a permeating mantra for rising and rallying when all hope seems lost threads [Read More]

Memphis May Fire share new single “Only Human” feat. AJ CHANNER

April 2, 2022

Memphis May Fire have shared “Only Human” from their upcoming seventh album “Remade in Misery”. The explosively rhythmic track features guest vocals from Fire From the Gods’ AJ Channer, who bounces lyrics off Mullins for a double dose of ferocity. “‘Only Human’ is one of my personal favorites off the new record,” explains Mullins. “AJ Channer is the only guest vocalist on the new album and we couldn’t be more stoked to have him on this one. He’s a vocal powerhouse and really took this tune to the next level.“ Each song drop from “Remade in Misery” thus far has had a philanthropic element and has been accompanied by a piece of charity-driven merch is available at the band’s online store. For “Only Human,” proceeds from the t-shirt will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services, and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001. The charity was selected by Channer. Remade in Misery arrives on June 3 via longtime [Read More]
