Pure Magic at Cafe Du Nord: Brigitte Calls Me Baby and SKORTS

April 29, 2026

There are some shows that just feel special from the moment you walk in and this past Monday, that was exactly the case when Brigitte Calls Me Baby returned to Café du Nord for a sold-out night in San Francisco. What made the evening even more exciting was the opening set from New York’s rising band SKORTS. Fresh off the release of their album Incompletement, SKORTS delivered a set that instantly grabbed the crowd. Their performance had an infectious energy with charisma pouring off the stage, matched by a tight chemistry between the band members that made every song feel alive. They treated the audience to several tracks from the new record, each one landing with confidence and style. By the end of their set, it was clear the crowd was fully locked in. By the time Brigitte Calls Me Baby took the stage, the venue was completely packed, buzzing with anticipation. And from the first note, they didn’t just meet expectations, they kicked them to the curb and elevated them. The band delivered [Read More]

Last weekend, I once again had the chance to catch a show at my favorite venue, the Backstage in Munich. This time it was in the Halle, the medium-sized club on the areal. The show has long been announced and in the end sold out. Three female-fronted bands, really tore down the venue with their energy-driven sets. The line-up was a good match. With breaks between sets of about 20 minutes, it was like a three-hour-long, almost uninterrupted set, including intensive crowd-surfing and numerous circle pits. Three Chairs, One Magical Night: Maya Hawke in San Francisco

April 19, 2026

The venue, the Intimate Chapel in San Francisco, set the tone for something special. On a sold-out Saturday night, it truly was the place to be. The line wrapped around the block, and you could feel the anticipation building with every step closer to the door as fans made their way in for an evening with Maya Hawke. Inside, the venue’s stunning architecture as it was originally built as a church in early 1900s, and that sparkly disco ball hanging overhead gave it an almost dreamlike glow, an iconic setting that felt perfectly suited for what was about to unfold. With just three chairs on stage, you knew right away this wasn’t going to be a typical show, it was going to be something intimate, something magical. Maya was joined by her husband, Christian Lee Hutson, along with an amazing violinist (my apologies for not having her name) who added a beautiful layer to the performance. Throughout the night, Maya not only performed but opened up, sharing stories behind the songs, engaging with the [Read More]

A Night of Pure Chaos – Behemoth and The Godless IV Tour in San Francisco

April 16, 2026

There are metal shows… and then there are nights like The Godless IV Tour when the intensity hits on another level entirely. When Behemoth brought their relentless force to The Regency Ballroom on April 15th, it wasn’t just a concert, it was a full-on assault that left the crowd stunned and exhilarated. The night kicked off strong with Immolation, who came in with incredible energy and absolutely shredded the stage. Their set leaned heavy into their older material while still showcasing tracks from their newer album and the crowd was loving every second of it. The mix of old and new hit perfectly, keeping the momentum high right from the start. Rotting Christ traveled all the way from Greece and brought a powerful, immersive presence that had the California crowd in awe. Their stage presence was intense and captivating, feeding off the crowd while giving that energy right back. From crushing riffs to thunderous drums, their set built into a full-blown frenzy, with a solid circle pit forming as the energy surged through the room. [Read More]

April 12, 2026

Fit For A King made a stop in Munich during their Lonely God tour. The show started pretty early at 6 pm, which was probably the reason that the venue wasn’t completely packed from the start. The Munich show was sold-out though and started to fill up over the first hour. Fit For A King chose an amazing line-up for their European show – Memphis May Fire, Acres and 156/Silence. A killer combo for an incredible Metalcore night.
