Hailing from Staffordshire, UK is the exceptional five piece band of Paper Tigers. They are delivering a fresh new sound of alternative rock/pop that is quite deserving of your attention. They have recently released their second record, Lifebloods which is a follow up to their critically acclaimed debut EP ”Safe In Words”. The EP starts right off with the dramatic almost Coldplay style intro of Majestic Twelve and takes you on an alternative dreamy dance style song that you will find yourself moving to and nodding in agreement. The vocals are inviting and take you from sultry to passionate and has a great tempo build up.

Haunts is a great track that intertwines mysterious tones into it’s catchy uptempo pop/alternative rock track. This just might be my favorite song as the vocals really captivate the listener and brings out a vibrancy. Then, you arrive at Lifebloods and once again you are faced with another favorite. Lifebloods definitely displays the well crafted musicianship that this band has in songwriting and it breathes their passion through their music. It is an amazing track that I could clearly see having no problem climbing the Billboard 200 charts and appealing to audiences across the genres. Check out the lyric video for Haunts here:

Closer North (Chapter & Verse) has a great intro and the song has a well executed composition where the entire band is featured and highlighted. You feel the drums, the bass, the guitars, the vocals, etc – all perfectly accentuated without overpowering each other. It is one catchy song that with it’s heartfelt lyrics and impressive vocals, just might become your personal favorite.

El Dorado fuses many elements into the song and create a dramatic effect on the intro. Once again the rich vocals stand out and there is just something about Jim’s vocals that draw you in immediately. It is like that friend reaching out to you and and grabbing your hand to take you out and insure you are having a good time. That is exactly what the EP brings out, a flood gate of good feelings. The EP also includes a great Common Wealth Remix of Lifebloods.
