Normandie release new record “Dopamine Clinic” this Friday

February 7, 2024

Stockholm trio, Normandie, announced their new album ‘Dopamine’ last September. Now the wait is over, the record will finally be released this Friday, February 9th 2024 via Easy Life Records. Set in a not-too-distant and – crucially – not-at-all-unrealistic future, Normandie’s fourth album, ‘Dopamine’, finds the band asking two unsettling questions: what if we pushed our brains and bodies far beyond their limits? And what if we already are? On their follow-up to 2021’s ‘Dark & Beautiful Secrets’, Philip, Håkan (Almbladh – guitar) and Anton (Franzon – drums) tackle the overstimulation of modern life head-on, and answer some hefty questions with some even bigger songs to produce a devastating, clinical example of everything a modern rock band should be. “The whole album is about the chase for different highs and natural chemicals: oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, adrenaline…” starts Philip. “What if dopamine had to be clinically provided because we’ve burned through our receptors?” “Making this album futuristic and dystopian came very naturally when we started discussing the current state of the world. We’re all on [Read More]

The Last Dinner Party deliver a pure night of ecstatic revelry at the El Rey Theatre

November 14, 2023

November 6th, 2023 was a night that will go down in our music history.  We travelled from San Francisco to attend the first Los Angeles show of The Last Dinner Party at the El Rey Theatre.  The show was sold out and was one of only 5 US shows on their tour. This was a night not to be missed. We first heard The Last Dinner Party on our local radio station Live 105 as they were featuring up and coming bands.  They played Nothing Matters and we were hooked from the first listen. We voraciously searched for more information on this English band and sat in sadness as they didn’t have any shows yet in the US.  We spent months playing their songs and wishing for a time to catch them live. Then they announced their 5 US tour dates and we immediately booked our trip.  We were sure to be in attendance for this event! The Last Dinner Party is made up of  powerhouse females that deliver a baroque-pop-rock style that is [Read More]

Check out the new track California Letdown from Teddy Cosmo

October 23, 2023

Some people are annoyed with the suggested posts as they are mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, but today, that is not me.  I saw a snippet of a song and immediately had to find out who it was and how to get the track. The song was called California Letdown and it was a new release from Teddy Cosmo. I had to find out more. It states the following on the profile: Teddy Cosmo musician, producer, podcaster, ♿cerebral palsy, wheelchair user, Berklee College of Music and from NYC. The song is amazing, the vocals remind me of a young Morrissey but with a modern production that captures the depth and tones of the emotions. Check out the track on Spotify here or take a listen below: As I delved deeper, I found his EP Ouchie and it is an alternative indie gem!  Check out the track Distant Stars and tell me how you can’t get hooked on it. The vulnerable raw emotion grabs a hold of you, all the while taking you on a musical [Read More]

Singer Songwriter BabyJake brings the fun to The Independent San Francisco

October 19, 2023

Nashville based singer songwriter BabyJake brought the fun to San Francisco with a tour stop at The Independent. His tour Aren’t We Ever Gonna Be More Than Friends? named after his third LP which was released this summer has been packing venues across the US. He comments about the tour “There’s nothing more genuine to me than being on stage performing my own songs that somehow became popular enough to wrangle up a crowd, but I can’t really fathom the thought of headlining an entire North America tour… But here I am announcing an entire North America tour… So put your cowboy boots & bell bottoms on & get ready to get rowdy, cause I can’t help but ask – Aren’t We Ever Gonna Be More Than Friends?” One thing is certain you can’t deny his genuine love for performing and he gives everything he’s got to the crowd and they happily reciprocate with cheers, dancing and singing along.  The energy reverberates through the audience and quickly gains momentum with each and every song.
