Interview with Charming Liars and get ready for new music!

June 5, 2014

Charming Liars is one British/American band that you have to know! They have had quite a successful year touring last year and we had the chance to catch them on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival. We were immediately drawn into their charismatic personalities and energetic sets. Several of the members have since relocated from London and call Los Angeles home now. They played a lot of the great venues in Los Angeles and everyone began to take notice of them. They soon worked with legendary producer Bob Rock and released their new EP “We Won’t Give Up” on May 19th. The EP is filled with five great tracks that are fun alternative rock style songs. You will get hooked on them and find yourself singing along in no time! We had the chance to talk with vocalist Charlie Cosser and are pleased to bring that interview to you here:   As we discussed in the interview, they are going to be busy working on new music, making music videos and heading out on the road. What a spectacular set they played, make sure to read our post about it. The Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival was The Cure!

June 2, 2014

For the past three months we have been bringing to you our featured artists and bands for the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. The festival was a great success, very well organized, plenty of parking, shuttles, food vendors, water refilling and phone charging stations. We will continue to bring you our recap of this successful festival but first we wanted to bring you the Highlight of the 2014 Bottle Rock Napa Festival. I don’t think it comes as any surprise, that The Cure has been chosen as the highlight of this year’s festival. The Cure played on Friday night and after a long day of great bands, good food and lots of fun. They started promptly at 7:30 and treated us to a nonstop 2 1/2 hour set. When I mean nonstop, I mean literally nonstop. There were no show breaks, or small talk. They were there to perform and did everything to insure that we all heard our personal favorites as well as some songs that haven’t played live in years!  Due to the [Read More]

Love Crushed Velvet release new video for Lover, Leave The Lights On

May 29, 2014

Love Crushed Velvet from New York City have released their new video for their song, “Lover, Leave The Lights On”. The track was originally released on Love Crushed Velvet’s compelling new EP Delusions in September, mixed by Mark Needham (Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, The Killers). Love Crushed Velvet brings to life their melodic rock track with captivating vocals. In regards to the video, lead singer/songwriter A.L.X. explains, “Lover, Leave the Lights On” is about a love triangle in which a woman would only be intimate with her husband with the lights off so she could pretend that it was her lover that she was sleeping with.  The song was written from the husband’s perspective.  For the video, we decided to go with the idea of the love triangle, but to take a more literal approach“. Check out the video here:   We had the opportunity to talk with Love Crushed Velvet and are pleased to repost that interview here: * * * * * *  Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music [Read More]

Framing Hanley release music video for Criminal

May 28, 2014

We recently told you the exciting news about Framing Hanley and how they released their new album, The Sum of Who We on their new label Imagen Records. This is Framing Hanley‘s third CD and the first in 4 years. Frontman Nixon explains, “There was definitely a dark period during the 2 years we spent recording this. That’s not to say this album is some dark and brooding album. There are definitely some light-hearted tunes on here as well; some that are fun. This album is the past 2 years of our lives and is every part of our beings…that’s what the title means. This album really is the sum of who we are. The thing that I love most is, I think when the listener puts on those headphones, or puts the cd in the car, he or she is gonna listen and come to find out, hey, me and this guy have got some things in common!” The album is the bands boldest artistic statement to date capturing the essence of innocence and hope, light and darkness, struggle and determination. Knee High Fox tears it up at The Boardwalk with their fierce set!

May 26, 2014

We are still recovering from the incredible night of music on Friday at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA. It was an awesome night and Powerman5000  unleashed their energetic set and  9Electric killed it as well with their electronic rock.  Now we can’t forget to tell you about one of the coolest sets of the night, Knee High Fox from Los Angeles. This was the first time I had heard of Knee High Fox but definitely not the last! They were incredible. You have Simon Nagel on bass who is incredible at engaging the crowd through his eye contact, making that solid connection that fuels their energy. Neal Tiemann on guitar was delivering a heavy set, headbanging like the rest of us and treating us to his sweet backing vocals. Matt Hankle on drums shines his character through his stage presence as he bangs out some fast precision drumming.  Then front and center you are captivated by the vocals of their frontwoman Christine Connolly. She is incredible and has a fantastic vocal capabilities as she takes you from [Read More]
