Jeff Hanneman gets Traffic circle named after him in Poland

February 7, 2014

Last year through a charity auction, a company Art-Com Ltd. won the rights to rename a traffic circle for a period of one year. The money donated for the name change will be going to fund medical equipment for children and seniors.  Art-Com, being the bad ass metal lovers, decided to pay tribute to our fallen metal guitarist, Jeff Hanneman of Slayer. Jeff Hanneman died May 2, 2013 from cirrhosis of the liver.  So now the traffic circle in  Jaworzno, Poland has been renamed Jeff Hanneman’s Circle Pit. You can watch a brief video clip of the sign change here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvQk1c4TEmM&feature=youtu.be]   That is soooo METAL!!! Thanks Art-Com for honoring the great Jeff Hanneman, truly a spectacular shredder and an amazing person. He was loved by all and is greatly missed. It is nice to see him getting this honor. ~ Marisol

Motley Crue announces FINAL Tour with Alice Cooper. “ALL BAD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END”

January 28, 2014

Today Motley Crue held a press conference in Hollywood at Beacher’s Madhouse Theater to release as they said, “The Biggest Announcement of Their Career”. Last week during the NAMM convention, we had received the confirmation that Alice Cooper was going to be on their Farewell Tour but of course, since it was all “off the record” we respectfully held back on our reports.  Eddie Trunk (That Metal Show) did tweet a photo earlier this month that was to be the ad for the FINAL Tour. The tweet has since been deleted and it was later described as a mock up of a rumor, but here is the photo: MÖTLEY CRÜE will kick off their 72 date tour of North America on July 2nd. In addition to tickets being as inexpensive as $15 or $20 so they can insure that everyone gets a chance to see this FINAL TOUR, they will also have a variety of VIP Packages, including Meet & Greets and are available at www.motleyvip.com.   Check out the dates that are listed below: Jul [Read More]

TRAGIC FAN DEATH AFTER STAGE DIVE AT SUICIDAL TENDENCIES CONCERT

January 28, 2014

On January 22, Suicidal Tendencies performed in Solothurn, Switzerland with Terror, Strife and Evergreen Terrace. It was a night full of high energy, moshing, stage diving and loud kick ass music. Unfortunately, a 28 year old man from Solothurn attempted a stage dive and the crowd didn’t exactly catch him correctly as he fell to the floor. All seemed to be ok as the man got up and walked around.  The venue security quickly acted to insure the man was alright as they insisted on him being evaluated at the hospital. “Our team decided, however, that he is immediately taken to hospital care,” Pipo Kofmehl explained. Sadly, complications arose for the young man and he died after  a seizure on January 24th.  Although the prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the incident,  a spokeswoman for the state police, Thalia Schweize was certain that the death was accidental. It is quite a sad story and definitely reminds us of the tragic death of Daniel Nosek at the Lamb of God concert in 2010 in which [Read More]

Sending well wishes to Duff McKagan as he recovers from Pneumonia

January 3, 2014

One of my SPECTACULAR ALL TIME FAVORITE bassists is feeling under the weather!! Duff McKagan is reported to be recovering from pneumonia. As you know, Duff has been very busy touring with his band, Walking Papers this past year. Their tour took them not only across the country, but worldwide. Walking Papers finished the year off by playing to a sold out crowd on New Year’s Eve at the Highway 99 Blues Club in Seattle,  WA.  What an amazing year for them, but I am sure along with that extensive touring, it can take a toll on you.  Earlier today, Duff’s amazingly talented and beautiful wife, Susan took to Twitter and asked for well wishes for her hubby who is home with pneumonia. So, now it up to all of us, send Duff our best wishes for a full recovery! So please send out good vibes and well wishes to Duff!  Also make sure to visit the Waking Papers’ website which has their vinyl now available!! I love the clarity and sound of  Vinyls and [Read More]
