From Ashes to New is a great group of six talented musicians from Pennsylvania. These guys were each known before for playing in bands in their local scene. Unfortunately, many bands are short lived or members change. Then you seem to be left with the truly faithful musicians who live their passion for music in everything that they do. What is even better, is gathering those musicians to form their own band. They not only bring their years of experience but their variety of musical influences. From Ashes to New is just that, almost a “super group” of sorts. These six guys came together and formed their band and in the short amount of time, are garnering a lot of well deserved attention. Tuesdays Travels Pick of the week goes to BatAAr from Sweden

Here we are on our first Tuesday Travels Pick of the Week for 2014!!!! Let’s start it off with an awesome alternative style metal band, BatAAr from Gothenburg, Sweden. They truly have a unique sound that blends everything from metal to punk, electronic to deathcore. They call their style “Art Metal” and it definitely will grab you and have you wanting to hear more. BatAAr just finished up their first ever Japan tour and it was quite successful. They definitely gained tons of new fans and we can’t wait for them to announce new tour dates…. hoping for some US dates soon. Hailing from Los Angeles, California is American Metal band Tempting Fate and was formed in 2009 by brothers Shane and Cory Beecher. Tempting Fate has Cory Beecher on Vocals, Shane Beecher on Guitars and Electronics, Matt Campbell on Bass and Austin SinClaire on Drums. Today is the release date for U.G.L.Y. debut EP DMT and it really is a great one and a must have. U.G.L.Y. which is an acronym for Under Greatness Lies You is Mijo (vocals/triggers/electronic drums), Braxton Olita (vocals/guitar/electronic drums/production), and Stormi Henley (vocals/keys/synths). Their newly released 6 track EP is primarily written and produced by the trio. Together they create a larger than life sound that is reminiscent of all the great ’90s electronic music but also updated and given new life with their own creative edge. NEW TOUR 2014: COMBICHRIST with William Control and New Years Day!

We have just received the dates for the upcoming tour for Combichrist “The We Love Tour” with special guest William Control and New Year’s Day! Throwback Thursday Music Feature is The Spent Poets

We all have our photos of us ready for Throwback Thursday filled with big hair, 80’s outfits, MC Hammer pants, flashdance shirts and so much more…. But what about the music? We need to have a Throwback Thursday Music Feature and here it is…. our first one. For my Throwback Thursday Music, is none other than The Spent Poets. I LOVED THIS BAND! I used to hang out at Paradise Lounge and DNA Lounge in San Francisco during the late ’80s and early ’90s and that is how I first found out about them. I think I first saw them when they were playing at the DNA Lounge and I picked up their self titled debut CD. Every single song became my fave. They had such a unique sound!
