Art of Shock taking over the Warped Tour!

This years Warped Tour has had so many great bands to check out. One that is playing the entire Warped Tour that you cannot miss is Art of Shock. Coming from Los Angeles, this Alternative/Aggressive Rock band is tearing up the stages and you can’t help but take notice of them. They deliver high energy rock and roll with an old school feel that will have everyone listening!  They were hand chosen by Warped Tour founder and producer, Kevin Lyman to be the official “BBQ Band” for the tour. Traedonya breathes fresh new life into music with her Funk Hipopera!

Let me introduce you to  Traedonya. Traedonya was raised in New York City and she surrounded herself with all kinds of music from Hip Hop, Funk and Rock. She truly is a lover of a variety of music and with those influences has created her own unique sound.   She has been dubbed the ‘The Bride of New Funk Hipopera” and she surely lives up to that title with her fusion of  hip hop, jazz, and her vocal range. “Another Lie” was produced by Large Professor and has been described as an anthem song for females. The story of the song is something that I am sure lots of ladies have experienced. The song not only features Traedonya‘s lyrical acumen but the jazzy vibe and instrumentals will have you reminiscing of classic R&B/Jazz. Wine Country producing great heavy metal with Waxwyng

Just over an hour North of San Francisco, lies Santa Rosa. The rock and metal music scene has had a tough time for the past few years here. We lost our only Metal/Rock radio station, 101.7 the Fox a couple years back, a string of night club closures including the most recent of the Last Day Saloon.  You might think that with all this happening, Metal and Hard Rock is scarce up here, but local Heavy Metal Band Waxwyng is making sure it is here to stay! Waxwyng are five guys who deliver some energetic progressive metal with influences from Classic Rock, Thrash, and much  more. You have the powerhouse vocals of Matt Cruz, Edgard Duenes and Will Reyes  shredding on guitars, Alex Wilson slamming on bass, and kicking ass on drums is Andreas Hernandez. Check out the new single by Sick Puppies, “There’s No Going Back”

I am so excited for the new album by Sick Puppies, “Connect”. I truly have loved these Australian rockers  for many years and they never cease to amaze me. For them I have my new saying, ” I love you more than your last album but less than your next album”.  I can’t imagine ever loving them any more than I do and then… BAM… their new music just has me loving them even more. Their new album “Connect” is set to release on July 16th and you can pre-order it right with special bundles off of their website  here.   The recently released their new single from the album, “There’s No Going Back” and it instantly became my favorite song. Lisa Lim delivers infectious blues based rock!

What do you get when you take some sweet blues, blend it with powerhouse vocals and top it with some rockin guitar? Well the incredible music of Lisa Lim, that is what. You can’t help but move to the great groove that Lisa gives out with her songs especially like “Superstitious Mind” or “Distant Second”. MADLIFE brings high magnitude intensity to the stage!

A few months ago I had the pleasure of introducing MADLIFE to many of you. We had so many of you write in and tell us about your love for them. Well, it is no surprise since this  industrial hard rock band from Los Angeles gains fans seconds after you first hear them.  I can only imagine what seeing them live will do. We have been excited about catching one of their shows since we have heard amazing things about their stage presence and high octane filled shows and couldn’t wait to witness it firsthand. Well Friday night, we jumped at the opportunity to head down to Hollywood and catch their show at the Troubadour.  It was the first time I had been back to the Troubadour since maybe 1986? 1987? I know it was right before Warrant getting banned from there and I don’t even remember who was playing. Oddly enough, the place like many from the Sunset Strip actually looks the exact same. Vampires Everywhere! is your “Drug of Choice”

Long before the popularity of Twilight or True Blood, there were the Vampire classics like Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Bela Lugosi and my personal favorite, The Lost Boys. It is from these classics that Michael Vampire of  Vampires Everywhere!  drew on these influences and became inspired.  Their sound is a blend of industrial metal/rock and is currently described as shock rock. I have recently been listening to their latest CD, “Hellbound and Heartless” and with high energy songs like  ‘Drug of Choice” or “Star of 666” you can easily get hooked.  A couple of my other earlier favorites are “Undead Heart” and “Immortal Love”, and have a great industrial/alternative rock sound to them. You can really hear their influence of Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie but with a more updated edgier sound to it that I thing makes them stand out. Time to let your dark side out to come and play.
