Check out our Interview with The Strive and pick up their single Keep Dreaming

May 1, 2014

The power pop band, The Strive from Kansas City have released an upbeat catchy new tune with Keep Dreaming earlier this month. The song has a great hard rock edge to it and will have listeners from all genres enjoying the passionate vocals, heartfelt lyrics and solid hook. We had the opportunity to interview vocalist, Brendan Stevens and are pleased to bring you it to you here: * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press.  First we wanted to tell you that we love the energetic new song, Keep Dreaming, Can you tell us a little bit more about that song? Brendan: Thank you! Keep Dreaming to me is a song about never being able to break that wall of friendship with the person you’re truly in love with to progress to something more. I think while it’s one of our more fast-paced and “dancey” so to say songs, it’s also really bitter and dark which is a cool contrast to the upbeat tempo. [Read More]

Australia Pop Rock band New Empire’s new album “In a Breath” OUT NOW!

April 29, 2014

Australian band New Empire is definitely garnering a lot of attention for their pop rock music. Their new album In a Breath is out today via Tooth & Nail Records. Their style is a blend of pop and alternative rock, complete with energetic songs brimming with catchy choruses and emotionally driven lyrics. This album is definitely a must have and is filled with songs for your every mood. The album starts off with what might be my favorite song, the emotionally stirring Tale of Jonah. It captures such a vulnerability in the vocals that soothes you. Then the next track The Sun Won’t Sleep sets in and is truly like sunshine on your face, you can’t help but feel alive and it has a great catchy chorus. The first time I heard Relight the Fire, the vocals instantly grabbed my attention. It reminded me of the way my favorite singer, John Waite could express such emotion in his tones. It is a beautiful track. With songs like Say It Like You Mean It and Left Behind with their [Read More]

The Cherry Bluestorms deliver modernized 60’s vibe with their Bad Penny Opera Album

April 27, 2014

I have really been enjoying the great work by The Cherry Bluestorms on their latest album, Bad Penny Opera. This concept album which tells the tale of a young girl embarking on a journey to find one’s self and start anew as she leaves behind her home set in 60’s Britain. The album brings to life their psychedelic 60’s inspired rock pop to life with vocal harmonies that feed your soul and an infectious pop rock edge.  You can’t help but fall in love with the mod vibe wrapped in an uptempo rock folk tone. One thing is for sure, it is an album filled with upbeat songs that are perfect for becoming the playlist of your life. A very prominent Brit pop style shines through and you might even think you are listening to a lost Beatles album or on occasion The Small Faces as well as with a Bowie-esque edge.  Their psychedelic pop and heavy guitar based melodies captivate you as you get enmeshed into the story of this young girl with big [Read More]
