Interview with Brian Weaver of We Are Harlot and Silvertide

May 20, 2014

We Are Harlot most recently made their debut at Rock on The Range this past Sunday and are set to perform at Rocklahoma this upcoming Saturday due to Trivium cancelling as per doctor’s orders. We Are Harlot just released their first single, Denial last week and has had everyone talking. Just this morning on my drive to take Brandon to school, as soon as we got in the car, Denial was playing on Octane. Of course Brandon was screaming out, “LOOK It is We Are Harlot!”… Ahhh the joy of having a rock n roll family.  Anyway, in the past we have featured Jeff George several times, he was our Day 1 of 12 Days of Guitarists  and we have featured our Interview with Jeff George here. Now it is time we get to know bassist, Brian Weaver. We are pleased to bring you our interview with Brian Weaver here: * * * * * * * *  Music Junkie Press:  Thank you Brian for talking with us here at Music Junkie Press!  We heard you debuted at [Read More]

Skid Row performs for a SOLD OUT SHOW at the Whisky A Go Go

May 20, 2014

This past Saturday at the legendary Whisky a Go Go was a night that many will remember. Skid Row was making a stop at the legendary venue for their United World Rebellion Tour. It was a sold out show and the venue was packed with a crowd that was ready to ROCK!  The opening bands, Ragdoll, No More Solace, State Line Empire, and Shattered Sun all put on excellent sets. We just caught them at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco earlier in the week and they were so spectacular that we wouldn’t miss their Hollywood show. Skid Row has been filling up venue after venue and everyone in attendance will surely agree that they put on an amazing performance.  Skid Row is: Johnny Solinger (vocals) Scotti Hill (guitar) Rachel Bolan (bass) Snake Sabo (guitar) Rob Hammersmith (drums) Once again, they sounded great and Johnny killed it on vocals.  Scotti and Snake are madmen on their guitars as they each dominated their area and commanded the attention of the audience with their amazing guitar work. Ragdoll makes their debut at the Whisky a Go Go and delivers a solid rockin set!

May 20, 2014

Australia rockers Ragdoll have returned to the the US in support of their upcoming release, Ragdoll Rewound which is a compilation of Ragdoll‘s first two releases (‘Ragdoll Rock’ and ‘Here Today’) plus four live recordings, one of which is a new composition, “Rewind Your Mind.” The album is set to release later this week on May 23rd. The trio revisited the first EP and had it remixed and polished the way they had always wanted to hear it. Songs like “Foot to the Floor” sound leaner and meaner while “The Feeling” is even more epic! Any issues the band may have had with the original ‘Here Today’ master have been fully rectified here too; while the new master of “Tell Me” in particular is a lot more dynamic and more true to the original mix. Ragdoll is Ryan Rafferty on (lead vocals, bass), Leon Todd (guitar), and Cam Barrett (drums) and together they are creating a powerful strong rock and roll sound worthy of your attention. With an intense desire to inject new life into the music they love; Ragdoll‘s [Read More]

The Devil in California starts off a night filled with Rock n Roll at the DNA in SF

May 16, 2014

We have been bringing you our coverage of all the bands that performed at the DNA Lounge this week for the Skid Row Concert. I hope you get to read all about them; State Line Empire, Black Star Riders, Skid Row. and now we are pleased to bring you The Devil In California. We were glad to see that they were added as an opener since we enjoyed their set when they played at the Above DNA for Truckfighters back in April. They deliver a fresh Southern Rock vibe complete with heavy drums, fierce guitars, powerful vocals and a commanding stage presence.
