For our next Spotlight Band, we would like to feature a band that brings out their unique style of grunge inspired rock. They are The Nearly Deads from Nashville. The band is self-described as sounding like “Halestorm meets the Foo Fighters, with Courtney Love at the helm, if she could wail like Kelly Clarkson.” They are definitely a band that will grab your attention and have you hooked from the first listen with their infectious charisma and high energy. The wait is over! Today The Shelters released the video for their bad ass track, Gold. The song brings out such a nostalgic vibe, yet delivers such a fresh sound like no other. Only days after their kick ass set at BottleRock, Foo Fighters release new single and video for “Run”

Foo Fighters delivered a killer set at BottleRock 2017 this past weekend. The crowd had camped out early on the grass all day long, to get a prime spot for the final band on the JaM Cellars Stage. It was great for us to finally watch them perform since the last time we had quite an experience at Salesforce Dreamfest in 2015. Our photographer suffered several injuries and a busted camera after what was definitely a Corporate Riot! But fast forward to Sunday night and the excellent security and planning of BottleRock, there were no signs of any injuries or crowd control issues. The wowed the crowd and even hinted that they might have a full album already recorded. Hey Bay Area, I have another great show for you to check out this weekend! One of our favorite bands, ONOFF will be playing not one, but two album release shows this weekend. You can catch them tomorrow night at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco and then again on Saturday night at the Boardwalk in Orangevale. Earlier this week we headed to the legendary Fillmore as Blue October brought the Heart Go Bang Tour to San Francisco. We have impatiently waited for this date to arrive. See, Blue October was not just another band for us to cover, they are a band that had provided the playlist to my life’s ups and downs for the past 20 years. Most recently in March, during my Mother’s hospice care at home, she would lay next to me and listen to Blue October, nearly silent for days, yet show would respond and tell me she liked the songs. Her favorite during that time, The Feel Again, (Stay). What a heavy song and yet, I truly clutched to those words… Stay… selfishly I wanted more time with her. After she passed away, I could feel the dark depression setting in as it had with my Father 5 years earlier. But I turned to music and once again to Blue October. If you are heading out to the next couple Blue October shows, make sure to arrive early so you don’t miss Harvard of the South. The band which formed from a side project with members of Blue October, Hurricane Bells and Longwave. We caught their recent performance as they kicked off the night at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco on May 17, 2017. It was quite a set!
