A little over a year ago I introduced you to an incredible local band with a big sound, Shotgun Harlot. You can read our original post here. Ashland Belle is “Bringin Country Back!”

When I think of Country Music Buffalo, New York is not the first place or even the 10th place that comes to my mind. But after taking a listen to the amazing new band, Ashland Belle, that has all changed. Ashland Belle has only been a band since late last year and have already created a big buzz with their new refreshing country/rock music. As David Guy, the band’s lead vocalist and co-songwriter explains, “We blend today’s Alt-Country with the traditions of old Southern Rock and Country music’s past.” They recently released their appropriately titled album, “Bringin’ Country Back” and I am loving every song on it. Saving Abel new EP Crackin’ the Safe now available!

If you are a diehard Saving Abel fan as I am, you would know that they have been working on a new record and also singer Jared Weeks has been filling in for Austin Winkler of HINDER as he is in recovery. They have also been busy putting together a great six song EP, “Crackin the Safe” that they just released on August 6th. This is their first endeavor label free! Lisa Lim delivers infectious blues based rock!

What do you get when you take some sweet blues, blend it with powerhouse vocals and top it with some rockin guitar? Well the incredible music of Lisa Lim, that is what. You can’t help but move to the great groove that Lisa gives out with her songs especially like “Superstitious Mind” or “Distant Second”. I know a lot of you know me for my intense love for rock and roll but you also should know that I have a soft spot for really good country music. Well my passion for country has just been satisfied. It has been a long time since I have had my affection for country music peaked in any way. Well that has all changed. I recently heard one of the most amazing voices that literally sent shivers down my spine! His name is Marty and he is from the Marty Ray Project. Music. Music is so many things to me. Music inspires me. Music energizes me. Music heals me. Music touches me. So many times in my life, whether they were good or bad, I can always remember that Music was right there to be part of it and to be my cheering section or my support team. As you may already know we are heading out to NAMM in Anaheim in just a couple weeks. Besides getting to check out the latest in music gear as well as get to see and talk to so many interesting musicians, I always look forward to what the nightlife brings during NAMM week. Every year, in addition to the long days at the Anaheim Convention Center there is a multitude of great bands playing throughout the Southern California area and all are hoping that you get to check them out.
