Photogallery: Silverstein, Comeback Kid, Senses Fail and Koyo

December 5, 2022

2022 is slowly coming to an end. Despite the big “C” it was a busy concert year. Everything is almost back to normal. During the long break many tours have been postponed or canceled, so this year the concert world had a lot of catching up to do. Silverstein have been to Munich during their 20 years-anniversary tour . Fast forward 2 1/2 years …Silverstein are back. This time they brought Koyo, Senses Fail and Comeback Kid with them. With four bands on the bill, the show started early at 7 pm. The venue wasn’t packed at the time, which as expected changed over the course of the night. Koyo and Senses Fail have done everything to make quite an impression that night. Senses Fail being quite popular in the US, are still not very well known around here yet, but I’m pretty sure that’s going to change, once they play here more often. Comeback Kid was kind of the “odd one out”. After all, they are a hardcore band, which musicwise stood out amongst [Read More]

The Word Alive share new single “Nocturnal Future”

November 17, 2022

The Word Alive are back! Two years after the release of their latest album ‘Monomania” the band released a new track today. “Nocturnal Future” is the first single without former guitarist Tony Pizzuti and drummer Matt Horn, which departed from the band about a year ago. Vocalist Telle Smith on the new song: „‚Nocturnal Future‘ is meant to be unexpected, and from the moment it starts I think you feel a new energy in the music we haven’t captured before. I wanted to encapsulate all of the things our fans have loved into one song, intricate guitars, flashy yet tasteful drums, meaningful lyrics and melodies you’ll want to sing along too. Lyrically, it’s a call to each of us to try to do more in a world seemingly hell bent on destroying itself. By the end of the song we want you to have pictured yourself at our show losing your mind, hopefully we’ll see you soon!“ Over the past months, the band has been working on album number seven, which can be expected in 2023. Grade 2 announce new album and release new single

November 14, 2022

British punk band Grade 2 announced their 3rd self-titled studio album “Grade 2”, which will be released February 17th, 2023 via Hellcat Records. Today they also released the music video for their new single “Under The Streetlight”. The energetic track with a spirited, hopeful melody comes with a music video, which celebrates the strength of the community. The band comments: “Even though there are times when life can feel stagnant or things aren’t going to plan, there will always be people there to support you whether it’s mates, a partner, or your family.” 50 years after the genre turned the music world upside-down, UK-based Grade 2 are bringing the raw power of old-school punk to a new generation. United by a love of old-school punk, ska, and oi, childhood friends Sid Ryan (vocals, bass), Jacob Hull (drums) and Jack Chatfield (guitar, vocals) formed the band at fourteen years old, honing their craft playing Clash and Jam covers before refining their own sound. With an album and EP already under their belts, in 2018 the trio [Read More]

Lionheart made a stop in Munich during their current tour through Europe. This time they brought along Dying Wish, Get The Shot, and Terror, and believe me, those bands all blew off the roof. It was a hot and sweaty show full of energy, fun, crowd surfing, many people on stage (oftentimes way more than band members) and good live music. Enjoy the photos and make sure to catch those bands live, when they play in a town near you! Sleeping With Sirens – new album “Complete Collapse” out NOW!

October 13, 2022

Sleeping With Sirens breathe rarified air. After fourteen years, five studio albums, and thousands of shows, the band has outlasted many of their peers while crafting an undeniably unique path through modern alternative rock. With each release, the band — Kellin Quinn [vocals, keyboards], Nick Martin [rhythm guitar], Justin Hills [bass], and Matty Best [drums] – continue to hone their mix of unflinchingly honest lyricism, unforgettable riffs, and pulse-pounding percussion while boldly exploring new creative frontiers. That future-forward perspective, coupled with a deep connection to listeners, has established Sleeping With Sirens as a beacon of hope in a world desperate to find silver linings. On “Complete Collapse”, the band’s sixth studio album, Sleeping With Sirens cut straight to the bone, as they process life in modern times. “We’re coming to terms with the new reality we are in,” explains Quinn. “Things have changed so rapidly, and we’re all doing our best to process it. There’s a feeling of heaviness to the record, both in sound and emotion. We’re trying to figure out what’s going on [Read More]

Cory Wells live in Munich with Youth Fountain & Modern Fireworks

October 3, 2022

It’s been a while since Cory Wells has been on tour in Europe, 2 1/2 years to be precise. This tour was originally set for early 2022 but had to be postponed due to Covid. Cory Wells has been playing in Munich for the third time now. Every time in another venue. This time at the Backstage, as you might know from the past, my favorite one in town. It was solely an acoustic evening with three artists – opening (local) act Modern Fireworks from Regensburg (Bavaria), Youth Fountain, and Cory Wells. The venue has been packed from the first act on, which certainly isn’t a regular thing. Though most people certainly came for Cory Wells, the other acts also managed to keep the crowd going and had people sing along to some catchy tunes. Cory Wells definitely gained a bigger audience over the years, even though he hasn’t been here for a while (like many bands due to the pandemic). He played well-known tunes like “Patience”, “The End Of A Good Thing”, “Harbor”, “Cement” [Read More]
