Thrice share new single “Open Your Eyes And Dream”

September 20, 2022

California rock band Thrice released their latest single “Open Your Eyes And Dream” via Epitaph Records. Check it out: Frontman Dustin Kensrue about the new song: “It’s so very easy to believe that big systemic issues can’t change because we’ve lived with them our whole lives. But if you look back and zoom out a bit, it’s easy to see that this feeling of permeance and inevitability is just an illusion. Most things seem impossible until they happen. This song is about opening our eyes to that reality, and being willing to dream something better into existence.” Thrice will be out on a co-headliner tour with Coheed and Cambria in the UK and Europe in October. Grade 2 release new song “Doing Time”

September 20, 2022

British punk band Grade 2 released their new song and video for “Doing Time”. The straightforward thrasher comes with a powerful shout-along-hook and straight lyrics, which denounce the banalities of nine-to-five everyday work. The band draws parallels to a life behind bars and uses effective rolling lines like “I’m just a number in the system with a lifetime parole….“. The song is the perfect addition to every skate soundtrack and a hymn for punk fans of all generations. It’s directed to everyone that can relate to the general contempt for the current business world. The band adds: “With a wink, but like a punch to the gut ,”Doing Time” is our answer to the dead end of the nine to five hamster wheel.” Childhood friends Sid Ryan (vocals, bass), Jacob Hull (drums) and Jack Chatfield (guitar, vocals) started the band at the age of 14 and celebrated their craft with covers of The Clash and The Jam before they refined their own sound and songs. A European tour as support for Stomper 98 resulted in [Read More]

September 18, 2022

Australia-based rock band Press Club released their brand new single “I Can Change” from their upcoming, self-produced record “Endless Motion”, which will be out October 14th via Hassle Records. ” “I Can Change” is about constantly being on the road, and needing to slow down/stay still because of the challenges it brings, emotionally and physically – fighting that feeling and wishing you could change cause it all you ever dreamt about. Then BAM, covid comes along, smacks you in the face and takes it all away from you! And obviously you’ll never take it for granted again, if you ever get it back cause it’s everything you ever wanted.” says Natalie Foster (singer) about the new song. Brave, energetic, and expansive, the idea of motion has always been central to the Press Club-ethos. Having made music together for 12 years, the Melbourne-based punk rock four-piece rejects stagnancy, constantly pushing to change and thrive in a scene that largely stays the same. “Endless Motion” is the ultimate artistic statement about the past three years – a [Read More]

Architects release new single “deep fake”

August 31, 2022

Shortly after the announcement of their new album and new tour dates, UK-Metalcore-legends Architects released their new single “deep fake” via Epitaph yesterday. The song is the opener of their highly anticipated new studio record “the classic symptoms of a broken spirit”. It’s a pulsating and bombastic album with a rave-rock-intro, which peaks in a vortex of pure hard rock riffs. After the hymn-like appetizer “when we were young”, which has reached 10 million streams so far, and the second forerunner “tear gas”, the pure power of the third pre-released song shows again, why Architects are amongst the most successful rock acts of the current decade. “the classic symptoms of a broken spirit” will already be the 10th studio record of the band and follows last year’s highly praised UK #1-record “For Those That Wish To Exist”. The band didn’t have much time to celebrate the success extensively, because they soon started the writing process of the new songs, which will be on the new record. It was produced at Deacon’s Middle Farm studios and [Read More]

Ithaca release new single “The Future Says Thank You”

July 23, 2022

Acclaimed UK metallic hardcore troupe Ithaca have streamed their huge new single ‘The Future Says Thank You’, the final glimpse of their long-awaited second album, They Fear Us, due 29th July via Hassle Records. Ithaca comment: ‘This song is about putting yourself first and moving on from a deeply toxic environment. It’s the most technically difficult song we’ve ever written- the constant changes and relentless pace are designed to make you feel trapped right up until the ending where hope breaks through. There is light at the end of where you find yourself.’ Ithaca are one of the most exciting and vital voices in the UK heavy scene currently. Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, Ithaca exist to challenge everything you thought a band that makes heavy music should look and sound like. A glitter-covered nailbomb, Ithaca seamlessly blend the brutality of Relapse Records metalcore with blackgaze, 90s industrial metal, 70s prog and even tinges of 80s power pop. Their influences stretch beyond the musical [Read More]
