We were so pleased to hear of the induction of Country artist, Randy Travis into the Country Music Hall of Fame. I may have been primarily drawn to rock and roll most of my life, but I remember the first time I heard Randy Travis sing nearly 25 years ago, I was blown away by his voice. I was drawn to his compelling vocals that would take you on a musical journey full of emotion.

Randy has had quite a few ups and downs over the years but my support of him never faultered. He has weathered those storms with his determination and perseverance. He was recently inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame along with Charlie Daniels and Fred Foster. Randy suffered a stroke in 2013 that nearly took his life. Myself being a three time stroke survivor, I had to relearn how to walk again. My stroke deficit’s were not nearly as severe as Randy’s and I recovered within a year to my baseline. Randy  has had a long road of recovery for the past two years and he has made great strides in his recovery. It was awesome to see Randy briefly speak at the induction and to hear his wife Mary. You can watch a video clip below:

Randy also released the following statement:

“The halls of fame are built for, and by, those that make a difference in their chosen career. I chose a career that I loved – and, it made a difference in me!

My greatest joy was sharing my song and my God-given talent with family, friends, fans, and the industry. Thank you for giving me the chance, for believing in me along the way, and for allowing me to ‘hang my hat’ alongside some of my greatest heroes.

I am honored to join those before me, and humbled to go ahead of those that will follow into Country Music’s Hall of Fame: no greater award could I ask to receive. God bless CMA and God bless our country’s music—Forever and Ever, Amen!”

Congratulations Randy, your voice has touched millions and we thank you for your gift of music.
