I am in love, yes, a deep and dirty love. Time for to scream it from the mountaintop! Ok, no need to worry my husband, my new love is a band from Budapest, Ozone Mama and allow me to introduce you to my new flame. First, I can’t take any credit for this find, this was all the wonderful doings of my good friend, Sharon R. Frantz of Sharon R. Frantz’s World of Music. We have become online friends who share a true love and passion for music. Sharon sent me a video of Ozone Mama as they played their song, Red Hot Lovin in Budapest Park. Check it out here:

This band hailing from Budapest, Hungary and they have given a fresh new facelift to the classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s. They bring out a heavier vibe and an absolutely addictive sound. I can’t get enough of them. The gritty vocals of Marton are so infectious and sultry. He brings out such a nostalgia for 70s classic rock. The guitars are sexy and dirty and have that raw edge that the Golden Era of Classic Rock would maintain.

Band Members:

  • Marton Szekely – vocals, tambourine
  • Andras Gabor – guitars, background vocals
  • Vivien Tiszai – drums
  •  Gergely Dobos – bass

Are you ready for more Ozone Mama? Check out their music video or their song, Go  which is off their latest EP, Freedom.

You can pick up their EP Freedom on iTunes here as well as their debut album The Starship Has Landed from 2012. Make sure to check out and visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news. I am hoping they make a tour to the US soon!

  1. I wish this had a “Love” button to click! Thank you Marisol! Wonderful article! I’m thrilled you share my love of this band and it’s wonderful members! I too hope they’ll be able to come over to the states for a tour and that we’ll get to see them live! 🙂

  2. I’ve been a fan for a couple of years now. This band has a fantastic sound and really should be on a label that would give them the support they need for a shot at breaking big outside of Hungary. Andris and I are online friends, and he is definitely well versed in rock’s history. His riffs are drenched in authenticity. I often advise friends looking for great new music to give them a listen. I don’t ever recall any of them saying that they don’t like Ozone Mama after one listen. Great band.
