Dropkick Murphys brought their nationwide From Boston To Berkeley Tour with co-headliners Rancid lto Berkeley. The month-long trek marks the first time the bands have toured together after a long and important history together. Each night culminates with a unique joint encore featuring Dropkick Murphys and Rancid sharing the stage for a mix of vintage punk and classic rock covers. The From Boston To Berkeley Tour also provided a special opportunity for those in attendance. Two From Boston To Berkeley Tour Charity Challenge Coins – one featuring Dropkick Murphys and one featuring Rancid — were available exclusively at the merch booth throughout the tour. NOFX kicks off The Hepatits Bathtub Tour in Berkeley and PUNK ROCK is alive and thriving!

For a Tuesday night in Berkeley, it was anything but quiet as NOFX kicked off “The Hepatitis Bathtub Tour”. The tour which coincides with the release of their new book, The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories will be hitting venues across the county.  We caught the opening show at the UC Theatre in Berkeley and it was unbelievable! The night kicked off with three fantastic punk rock sets. First up was the punk band from Santa Cruz, Fast Asleep. They kicked the show off with a frenzy of raging punk songs that got the crowd riled up within seconds! They had a thrash metal influence in their punk rock that I loved as well. Raiju delivers a fresh new sound that is highly addictive and you will love!

Straight from one of the most politically liberal towns in the U.S. comes a band delivering one of the freshest new sounds in progressive metal/rock bands out today. Raiju is comprised of five suave musicians who together blend the great sounds of metal, pop, rock, and progressive into their own highly addictive music style.  Even though they bring to mind a familiarity of bands like Dream Theater, Of Mice and Mine, Bring Me The Horizon and Pierce the Veil, they truly stand out with their originality and forging ahead to create their own unique sound. Their song Pasquale is the perfect song to get yourself acquainted to this new band. You not only hear some kick ass metal guitars but raging  high octane drums.
