Interview: Will Kreth of Stick Against Stone. By Patrick O’Heffernan

August 8, 2016

(Los Angeles) Bands go through changes.  It is a universal constant that only the Rolling Stones seem to be able to defy.  Bands break up, reunite, change names, change styles,  add people,  lose people, change homes, band mates join other bands, band mates go solo, and some even leave music altogether.  It is part of the ebb and flow of the creative process.  Stick Against Stone has seen all of that over its 30-year lifetime, and with each new step in their evolution they have maintained what many critics feel is one of the most creative blends of  Afro beats, punk, reggae, funk, jazz, dub and horns and percussion in our time.  The band started out writing music in a basement in Pittsburg, crisscrossed the country –  often in a converted yellow school bus – played music and sometimes politics, always live, never recorded  And now after 30 years they have recorded an album of songs drawn from their long career. Will Kreth, percussionist, manager and unofficial archivist for the band, stopped by to [Read More]

Check out the lyric video for the new single, We Belong Together from KC and The Sunshine Band

August 8, 2016

KC and The Sunshine Band recently premiered the audio of their new single, “We Belong Together,”. The song is the latest in an iconic four decade career that has promoted love, unity and happiness through music. Penned by Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, “We Belong Together” captured what the Grammy Award winner was feeling when he first heard the track. KC comments, “I remember, I had just met someone, and it was right at that beginning stage when just the sound of their name gives you butterflies. It was around the time my namesake Casey Naymen, who is a DJ and the son of my close friend Larry, brought me this track and ‘We Belong Together’ was born. It came from that feeling of just wanting to be with someone, and knowing you belong with this person.” Today you can check out the new lyric video for the track:   You can catch KC and the Sunshine band out on tour: KC and The Sunshine Band on Tour:       AUG 13 – MILL RACE PARK – COLUMBUS, IN                     AUG 14 – MARTHA [Read More]
