Monster Magnet share cover song of Dust’s “Learning To Die”

April 21, 2021

Monster Magnet released a video for their cover of classic Dust track “Learning To Die” today. The new song is a first glimpse into the band’s upcoming new record, a cover album ‘A Better Dystopia’, which will be out May 21 via Napalm Records. While the album marks a new frontier for MONSTER MAGNET as their first covers record, this is not your typical set of standards released to pass time. A Better Dystopia sees the band pay homage to some of their favorite songs of all time, while reflecting on the paranoia, dystopia and revolution of both now – and then. Of the song selection, frontman Dave Wyndorf says: “‘Learning To Die’ blew me away when I was 15 and it still blows me away. Man, do I LOVE to sing this song. Dust was one of the greats.” Dave Wyndorf says about the birth of A Better Dystopia: “We all agreed that we would be bored out of our minds within a month of lockdown. MONSTER MAGNET loves the road. It’s a lifestyle. [Read More]

Black River Delta release new video for “California Sun”

April 20, 2021

Black River Delta is back with their new album “Shakin’”. It will be out June 4th via Sofaburn Records. With their new song “California Sun” the band delivers the third single from their long-awaited third studio record. Frontman Erik Jacobs on the new single: “California Sun” is a track that has been with us for quite some time. We started writing it a few years ago and it has been through a few stages before it was finished. We recorded drums and guitars in Malmö, Sweden, and then continued with bass in Los Angeles. Mid-recording we took a break and went on a road trip. Even though we’d always seen this track as a ”car song” we hadn’t written any lyrics for it. So we were actually driving down Highway 1, probably going too fast and listening to rock songs way too loud on the radio. And that experience was the last piece of the puzzle, that was what ‘California Sun’ was all about.” “The idea for the music video was easy, we would just [Read More]

Arkells and K. Flay release a new track and video “You Can Get It”

April 13, 2021

Arkells are coming back with their brand-new single and video “You Can Get It” feat. K. Flay. Recorded with K. Flay in Los Angeles before the lockdown in March 2020 the song has taken a whole new topicality. Relevance and urgency after having been ‘locked up’. “It feels as if the sun has just come out and the song is about being free and able to follow every dream and desire“, says Arkells frontman Max Kerman. “When we started to write this song, the world felt dark”, he continues. “We were looking for answers. You search for people that give you energy. You search for the small moments that lead you on a new path. The collaboration with K. Flay gave us this push. She turned the song upside down and put the finishing touches on it. Our band continues to develop and grows and she’s now in the family.” The video is a funny innuendo on the iconic game show “Wheel Of Fortune” with Max Kerman in the role of the iconic co-moderator Vanna [Read More]

Filled with warm acoustic and electric guitar, the track is perfect for beach days that turn into bonfires with friends. “Camp with your friends, play each other’s songs, swim in Gold Lake, find bigfoot – this song snuck its way onto the album in the final hour and we’re excited to share it with you”, says the band. “Gold Lake” is the second single from the band’s debut LP “What’s The Rush”, due out May 7, 2021 via Pure Noise Records. This is the first taste of new music from the band since their 2019 debut EP “Rising”. Fans can pre-order “What’s The Rush” today.
