Indie rocker Daniel Ellsworth releases new single, Blurry

June 23, 2023

Indie rock artist, Daniel Ellsworth released a new song, Blurry. The track is on his new EP WHAT to be released on July 14. Daniel comments about the song, “This is a song about being so completely enamored with someone that everytime you see them the room starts to spin, you start seeing colors, and everything around you starts to blur. I wrote and recorded “Blurry” when I was listening to a ton of Anderson .Paak. The way he incorporates R&B, pop, hip-hop, gospel, jazz, and soul into everything he creates is wildly inspiring. Coming from years in the indie rock world, I wanted to try to push myself to do something in that arena. I do a lot more in this world now in my project DARKMINDS that I have with Christopher “C4″ Umana, but at the time that I wrote and recorded this it was new for me.” Check out the track here: WHAT is Ellsworth’s first fully self-produced, self-mixed solo release. It’s infused with a genre bending, underground indie atmosphere and draws on influences as wide ranging [Read More]

Alt rockers LEONE release new video for I Wanna Be

June 22, 2023

Alternative rockers LEONE released a video for their track I Wanna Be. Richie Leone comments about the video, The mesmerizing music video for ‘I Wanna Be’ was brought to life by director Beth Fletcher, and unfolds within the walls of Brooklyn’s iconic House of Yes. Serving as a nod to my poker-loving father, the video revolves around a poker table, where I find myself in cahoots with one of the players. Engaging in a dance of seduction and deceit, our aim is to cheat the game and claim all of the money at stake. This visual metaphor portrays my personal experiences of feeling betrayed and hurt in relationships, despite giving my all. As the video reaches its climax, two undercover figures make a dramatic entrance, and in a surprising turn of events, I am knocked out and taken away while my deceptive “partner” walks off with the money.” Watch the video here:   The song is off their upcoming highly anticipated sophomore EP, GTFOH, is set to be released this August. More about the album: GTFOH is [Read More]

The Voidz delivered epic sets on 4 SOLD OUT San Francisco shows!

June 18, 2023

The Voidz are back! Just last month they released their new song, Prophecy of the Dragon and it is just in time to remain a staple on your summer soundtrack. The band comments about the song, The track started with a very simple question…. what would it feel like if God whispered into your ear “you are my most magnificent creature.” What would that feeling sound like? What would its bassline be? With that Beardo blew The Voidz conch shell and we assembled where we had been summoned for previous quests. The response? From the fiery bones of eternity, the dragon’s voice, awakened after millennia in waiting, spewed forth a sonic fist of impertinence in the shape of a new pirate anthem where nothing is what it seems, nor is it otherwise – Prophecy Of The Dragon.” Check out the song here: Thursday night we were able to catch The Voidz during their 4 night SOLD OUT residency at the Great American Music Hall.  It was absolutely EPIC! The night kicked off with openers The Paranoyds and Automatic. The crowd was [Read More]

Photo Gallery: Automatic in San Francisco with The Voidz

June 18, 2023

Another great band that was opening for The Voidz at their 4 SOLD OUT San Francisco shows, was Automatic. They brought a blend of post punk shoegaze to the stage and everyone was loving them.  Check out a photo gallery of their set by our Rockin Ryan:   Automatic features trio of Izzy Glaudini (synths, lead vocals), Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals). Their second album EXCESS is currently out now and you can pick it up HERE. About the album: Automatic’s second album Excess rides the imaginary edge where the ‘70s underground met the corporate culture of the ‘80s – or, as the band puts it, “That fleeting moment when what was once cool quickly turned and became mainstream, all for the sake of consumerism.” Using this point in time as a lens through which to view the present moment, Excess takes aim at corporate culture and extravagance. The overarching themes of alienation and escapism emerged as Automatic put Excess together, taking writing retreats to flesh out the new songs before decamping to [Read More]

The Paranoyds hit San Francisco for 2 nights with The Voidz

June 18, 2023

This past week was crazy in San Francisco! The Voidz played  4 SOLD OUT nights at the Great American Music Hall and The Paranoyds were there opening for two nights.  They were so incredible.  They really got the crowd ready for a kick ass night of music. We were instantly hooked. Check out some photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan:   About the band: With a bond that began in preschool, Laila Hashemi (keys/vocals) and Lexi Funston (guitar/vocals) were always inseparable, so when they met  Staz Lindes (bass/vocals) in ninth grade, it felt like they had known her all along. After all, they were a “package deal.” In high school, they began making music together in a friend’s laundry room and their relationship just blossomed from there. When it came time to add in a drummer, David Ruiz, who joined the band in 2015, fit in like he had been there all along. It’s that special bond that has solidified their relationship as bandmates who connect seamlessly to one another’s energy on [Read More]
