Strange Talk from Australia set to play San Francisco Nov. 5th!

Strange Talk, eletropop band from Melbourne, Australia is coming to San Francisco next week! They will be performing at Brick & Mortar on November 5th, 2013. You can more details on tickets at their website. Strange Talk is set to release their self-produced debut album Cast Away in early 2014 via Wind-Up Records. They have their debut single, “Climbing Walls” is out on radio play now. These guys have a great new refreshing sound. They blend a bit of the eighties pop with a touch of 90’s electro and then wrapped into their own edgy style. The Pretty Reckless is a crowd pleaser in San Francisco!

Just only a week ago, I was at Slim’s in San Francisco and enjoying the incredible, Russian, British and American band lineup that comprised of Louna, Heaven’s Basement and The Pretty Reckless. It was quite a night as these three very different bands came together and gave an amazing show that had the crowd continuously rockin out all night. This was the first time I saw The Pretty Reckless although I did get to enjoy Taylor Momsen as she joined Marilyn Manson on stage for the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Tori Vasquez and her amazing performance at the Fillmore

Last night we covered the Blue October SWAY tour show in San Francisco at the historic Fillmore. We were treated to an amazing performance by Tori Vasquez. We got to see Tori as she opened for Justin on his Open Book tour earlier this year. At that time, she did an acoustic performance and that was wonderful. Well, last night we had the honor of seeing Tori play with her band and it was spectacular. Her band definitely give out great energy. When Tori first steps out on stage, she reminded me of a young Linda Ronstadt and when she performs she brings out the Pat Benatar rockstar in her. She has quite a magnetic stage presence and along with her alluring voice, you can’t help but be drawn to her. I miss the ’90s but yet I yearn for something more at the same time a bit darker. Fast forward to today and I have what I am looking for….. Calling all Astronauts! Three of the most amazingly talented musicians are set to release their new album, Chemicals on October 1st. I am talking about none other than Smile Empty Soul. These guys have been around delivering incredible music with some of the best lyrics in the industry since 1998. The Swellers, from a crossroads to Becoming Self Aware & Tour Dates!

Michigan punk band, The Swellers are set to release their fourth LP, The Lights Under Closed Doors through No Sleep Records. They have a release date of October 29th but you can head over to the No Sleep Records website and pre-order it. They have teamed up with animal rights PETA to premier their new song, “Becoming Self Aware” on their PETATV site or the link here. The song is incredible and has some soul awaking lyrics that just draw you in. Drummer Jonathan Diener talks more about this song as he explains, “I did a couchsurfing/soul searching week with my friends between tour, I was at a crossroads in my life, but one day I had nowhere to go, played my guitar in a park and parts of songs I’ve had for a while came together. Balance and Composure set to release Album and Fall Tour with Coheed and Cambria

Pennsylvania alternative rock band, Balance and Composure are set to release their new album on September 10th via No Sleep Records. I am truly excited about this one! Titled, “The Things We Think We’re Missing” is their second album and I have already heard one of the songs off it, Reflection and it has me eagerly counting the downs down until the full album release. Balance and Composure have to be my new favorite indie-alternative band! I just heard Tiny Raindrop, another single from the new album and it brings back my love of the 90’s when alternative music captivated my attention and didn’t blur the lines with sub-genres.!
