Filter cancels SF Show and Phil Buckman announces departure from FILTER

October 5, 2013

First news of the day is that FILTER has cancelled their upcoming San Francisco show set for tomorrow night, October 6th at Regency Ballroom. This was one stop on their Self Inflicted Tour with RED, Otherwise, and We As Human.  We were looking forward to covering this show since it was filled with our favorite bands that we got to see at Aftershock Festival. We As Human and Otherwise really stole the show at the Sacramento festival. I heard the cancellation via a local radio station’s status but I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Then through my searching, I came across even more news. On September 30th Phil Buckman, bassists announced his departure from FILTER. I completely missed this news and have not seen anything else about it. Today I did see a tweet from FILTER Official that mentions it. Here are the two posts. So there you go. I wish Phil all the best in his future endeavors. He is one talented musician and incredible bassist. You can catch Phil performing at the ROCK [Read More]

October 2, 2013

Suicide Silence Will Continue…. UPDATE 10/4:  SUICIDE SILENCE HAS RELEASED THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF EDDIE HERMIDA (ALL SHALL PERISH) AS THEIR  NEW VOCALIST. HERE IS THE OFFICIAL POST AND PHOTO: “Suicide Silence is pleased to announce the addition of Eddie Hermida to the family. Many of you may be familiar with Eddie through his work with All Shall Perish. For those of you unfamiliar, our relationship with Eddie goes way back to the Spreading Disease Tour, our first U.S. headlining run, in 2006. Mitch & Eddie remained long-time friends and we felt that if the band were to continue it should be with someone Mitch knew personally and respected as both a friend and an artist. We’ve chosen Eddie as our new frontman in association with this long-standing relationship & countless other attributes from his quality of character to his dynamic vocal abilities that make him the absolute best fit for this band.  We hope you all will embrace this decision with open arms understanding that this is what Mitch would have wanted. He would [Read More]

New Politics set to join PINK on tour!!

September 16, 2013

Just announced….. Our friends in one of our favorite bands, New Politics which we had the the opportunity to catch and interview on the Uproar tour last week, have just announced they will be joining PINK on her arena tour in October. What a great opportunity for our friends in New Politics to show the world just how incredible they are live in concert. To imagine seeing them perform in an arena atmosphere just gets my heart pumping.  New Politics just played the Zippo stage on the Uproar Tour and made a stop at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View on September 11th and they truly stole the show! If people arrived not knowing who New Politics were, they definitely left knowing them and also became new fans! We caught them earlier before their set and are pleased to bring you this interview: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1vRFRdwSbY&feature=youtu.be]   We first met New Politics over 3 years ago when they played in San Francisco and you can check out that write up here to get our initial perspective on [Read More]

Papa Roach cancels South American tour due to Jacoby’s strained vocal chords

August 7, 2013

Vocal issues have plagued lead singer Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach for some time now. It was last year that he spoke about a node forming on his vocal chord and which eventually led him to  have surgery. He successfully recovered from that surgery and has gone on to kick ass at shows with his incredible voice. He truly is one of my favorite vocalists! Papa Roach just released a statement announcing suspension of their South American tour dates due to Jacoby Shaddix’s strained vocal chords. Here is the post from their Facebook page: “To our fans in South America, we are sorry to say our tour is canceled. Jacoby is having vocal issues, and has been ordered to rest. We will be rescheduling the tour for next year. – Jerry” It was not long for fans to show their shock, support and even some quite rude and irrational comments that led to Jacoby himself adding this post: “TO ALL THE SOUTH AMERICAN FANS……. I write this with a heavy heart. I have read a [Read More]

Lemmy cuts set short: PLEASE TAKE A REST LEMMY! WE LOVE YOU!

August 2, 2013

Exactly one month ago, I told you about Motorhead cancelling their European tour dates due to Lemmy Kilmister health issues. One of the tour dates they did not cancel was Waken Open Air Festival and maybe they should have. it is reported that they had to cut the set short due to Lemmy’s health.  They had longer pauses between songs and after one long pause, Lemmy came out for another song and never returned. Thank you so much, guys!  according to Google Translate here it [Read More]
