Check out Mariachi Muerto for some Latin style Rap/Rock

May 1, 2014

How about something a little different for your musical tastebuds? How about checking out some Latin style Rap/Rock with the band Mariachi Muerto from Corpus Christi, TX. Mariachi Muerto is Ruben A Lopez on Lead Vocals, Mark A Pantoja on Rhythm Guitar, Lee Roy Lerma on Drums, and Roger Vela on Bass. They released a video for their song, Who We Are and the video was shot and edited by Mando Lujan from “In My Room Productions”. They describe the song as “the song that defines the sound, attitude and platform to which we create musically.” Check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdXuF2gTVqo&feature=youtu.be]   That is some pretty damn fine rappin and rockin if you ask me! It almost reminded me of Ice Cube blended with nu-metal. I look forward to hearing more new music from Mariachi Muerto. They have an upcoming show on May 9th with Shattered Sun. Check out the flier here:   Also make sure to visit their social media sites and follow/like them. We will see if we can bring you more updates about Mariachi Muerto. ~ [Read More]

Get ready to rock with TEMPT as they make their debut at Rocklahoma

May 1, 2014

Rocklahoma is less than a month a way and with bands like Five Finger Death Punch, Twisted Sister, Kid Rock,Tom Kiefer, Jackyl and so many more it will be a weekend full of nonstop rock. We wanted to bring to your attention a young new band, Tempt which will be making their debut at this year’s Rocklahoma.  These days with all the various genres and subgenres, straight up ROCK n ROLL  seems to get left behind or lost in the shuffle. This young band, Tempt is going to make sure that Rock is alive and well and they are going to keep it that way! The New York City based Tempt is Zach Allen (vocals), Harrison Marcello (guitars, keyboards, vocals), Zak Gross (bass, vocals), and Jimmi Kane (drums). Together these four are breathing the life back in to rock and roll with their big sound. Their music is highly guitar driven, up-tempo rock that will have you with your fist in the air and ready to party. They will have available at the show a four song [Read More]

Check out our Interview with The Strive and pick up their single Keep Dreaming

May 1, 2014

The power pop band, The Strive from Kansas City have released an upbeat catchy new tune with Keep Dreaming earlier this month. The song has a great hard rock edge to it and will have listeners from all genres enjoying the passionate vocals, heartfelt lyrics and solid hook. We had the opportunity to interview vocalist, Brendan Stevens and are pleased to bring you it to you here: * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press.  First we wanted to tell you that we love the energetic new song, Keep Dreaming, Can you tell us a little bit more about that song? Brendan: Thank you! Keep Dreaming to me is a song about never being able to break that wall of friendship with the person you’re truly in love with to progress to something more. I think while it’s one of our more fast-paced and “dancey” so to say songs, it’s also really bitter and dark which is a cool contrast to the upbeat tempo. [Read More]

Winger proves Better Days Comin’ with their new rockin album

May 1, 2014

Who isn’t ready for Better Days? Whether it be as a commentary to society today or even the uncertainty in the rock and roll world. One thing is certain, Winger is out to bring us that hope with their new album, Better Days Comin’.  Their new album was released last week through Frontier Records and it is one that I have had on repeat for a while now. Winger celebrated their 25th anniversary of their first highly successful self titled album which was released in 1988.  Fast forward to today and they sound just as fresh and ready to rock. The album starts off with Midnight Driver of a Love Machine along with it’s very cool 80s’ style intro and then vocals come in and they are sweetly intense as they take you into a bad ass rockin song. Perfect song to start off the album and get you fueled to rock. Queen Babylon and Rat Race come in and really deliver a metal sound with fierce guitars, crunchy rhythm, precision drumming and sweet solos. There is something [Read More]
