The String Theory captures Heart, Soul and Rock ‘n Roll with their new album.

January 2, 2014

Straight from Independence, Kentucky is one of the most promising new Indie Rock bands for 2014… The String Theory.  This powerful trio brings to life a culmination of sounds from blues, hard rock, metal, funk and so much more. In a world where so much  music has been compartmentalized to fit a genre or sub-genre standard, it is awesome to see a band just put their full attention to putting out GREAT MUSIC! That is exactly what The String Theory does. They clearly capture, Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll. The String Theory is David Cahill on Vocals and Guitar, Andrew Sterner on Bass and Vocals and Tristan Arnold on Drums. These three combined, create a big powerful sound that deserves your attention. I had the opportunity to listen to their new album, “Falling Like The Sun” and I am hooked on this band. The whole album is filled with well-written, energetic and fun songs. The album starts right off with energy and attitude on the first track, Falling Like The Sun. David Cahill’s vocals start in with a punk [Read More]

Check out Switchblade Serenade and their new release “Who Are You?”

December 30, 2013

Rockers Switchblade Serenade are only a couple weeks away from the release of their album, “Alive at Night”.  We can’t wait for it! We featured Switchblade Serenade as Day 6 on our 12 days of Bands You Have To Know.  These guys definitely have the rocker look and the talent to back it up! Their new album is going to have you hooked. Bassist Ed Mandevil tells us more about their new single,  “Who are You?”. “The song is about asking the listener who they really are. There are so many fakes and phoneys out there and we’re a bit tire of it!”  The song has a bad ass bass intro, vocals are edgy yet mysterious, love the backing vocals, great guitar solo and rockin drums!  How about checking out the song before it’s January 10th release?? Check it out here! [wpvideo lDHEF7il]   Switchblade Serenade is Austin Jaser on Guitar and Lead Vocals, Luke Barone on Drums and Vocals and Ed Mandevil on Bass and Vocals.  These three young guys bring a great big sound that you [Read More]

What a year it has been for Jared Weeks. He not only has been busy with Saving Abel, but also filling in for Austin Winkler during his absence with Hinder.  Jared has just announced his departure from Saving Abel to pursue his solo career.  We just read he post here on Facebook: A MESSAGE FROM JARED WEEKS– A lil over 10 years ago Jason Null and myself (Jared Weeks) started the band Saving Abel, and little did I know how much our lives would change for the better. It’s been so amazing over the past decade, to meet so many fans, tour with so many of my favorite and amazing bands, and travel all over the world, to places I couldn’t never imagine myself going. It really has been one hell of a ride for me. I’ve had such a great time experiencing all that we have accomplished with my brothers in SA: Scotty B. Eric T., Mikey M. & Jason N. these fellas have been a family to me on the road and part [Read More]

Day 10 of 12 Days of Guitarists goes to Steve Stevens

December 23, 2013

Only three spots remain on our 12 Days of Guitarists for 2013 and Day 10 goes to one of my personal favorites; Steve Stevens. Steve is most notably known for his 30 year career as guitarist and songwriter for Billy Idol.  Steve is also know for his solo work, collaborations as well as frequently playing with the all star band, Camp Freddy and other projects including soundtracks. Just this past weekend Camp Freddy had three sold out packed to gills shows at The Roxy. Steve was there and he was just a madman on his guitar as usual. I didn’t get to catch him at the most recent Camp Freddy shows but I have seen him many times perform with Billy Idol and he is just spectacular live! One thing is for sure about Steve, he can play so many different styles and make them his own. His guitar playing knows no genres or boundaries, just pure talent all the way through.  He truly perfects one of my most favorite styles; flamenco. When he performs [Read More]
