Day 9 of 12 Days of Guitarists goes to Orianthi

Today is our Day 9 of 12 Days of Guitarists and we are pleased to announce Orianthi as our feature. Orianthi has had a long history shredding on the guitar and is absolutely amazing. She first picked up the acoustic guitar when she six years old and at age 11 she moved on to the electric and the rest is history. At the young of 28, this Greek Australian guitar virtuoso has led quite a successful career as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and an amazingly all around talented musician. Many might know her as the guitarist for late Michael Jackson and his ill-fated “This is It “Tour. Jeff George and Danny Worsnop of Harlot join Camp Freddy on stage at the Roxy

Ok… so now I am really bummed about not making out to the 3 Day Camp Freddy Residency at The Roxy in Hollywood. First I told you yesterday about Austin Winkler (formerly of Hinder) joined them on stage as he sang Born To Be Wild. (Read post here). Well, last night, I missed catching our featured guitarist Day 1 (Read Day 1 here), Jeff George of Harlot and his bandmate Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria) join Camp Freddy. Austin Winkler back on stage performing with Camp Freddy at the Roxy

We know that it was hard for all of us when we first heard the news of Austin Winkler‘s departure from Hinder but we were excited to know that he was going to continue on with his music career. You can read more on our previous post here. Austin has been sharing posts on Instagram and Twitter letting us know about his new musical venture and has been hard at work on it. I am elated to hear that and guess what, last night Austin joined Camp Freddy on stage at the Roxy in Hollywood. I can KICK MYSELF since Rockin Ryan and I had plans to go to a couple of the Camp Freddy shows this week but family emergencies prevailed and fires had to be put out. Last Day of our 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know Goes to Fair Struggle

Here we are on the final day of our 12 Days of bands you have to know. Our last days goes to one of hottest female fronted rock bands in Northern California and it is time everyone knows them! The band is Fair Struggle and they recently won Winner of the “Best Hard Rock Band” at the 2013 SAMMIES (Sacramento Area Music Awards). It is no surprise and I am sure they will continue to dominate the rock scene. Fair Struggle is fronted by the powerful yet soulful voice of Meg Morrison. Meg reminds me of early Lzzy Hale. I am sure you can’t imagine them having an even bigger year than 2013, but it is true. These guys are on a non stop Energizer Bunny track to success and just have the Midas Touch. A year ago I introduced you to Shotgun Harlot, and then we told you about their upcoming new EP, Crescent Moon, read post here. They are an incredible local band with a big sound that demands to be heard. They deliver down and dirty ROCK n ROLL that will have you raising your fists in the air, drink in the other and raising hell with friends! We also featured an interview with lead singer, Dylan D.
