12 Days of Bands You Have to Know

Day 2 of 12 Bands You Have to Know goes to Burnos!

December 10, 2013

Today is our 2nd Day of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know and I have a great treat for you. How about the awesome music of Burnos which delivers kick ass rock with their new song, “Octane”. Burnos is Melissa Burnos on Vocals, Eric Friedman (Creed, Tremonti, Projected) on Guitars, Garrett Whitlock (Tremonti) on Drums and Brian Weaver on Bass.  I have been listening to them on XM Sirius Octane channel and everytime they come on, I can’t help but be fully adrenalized by their high energy octane driven (pun intened, ha) rock. Melissa delivers strong yet clean vocals that take a hold of you. Garrett gives us precision fueled drumming, Brian is a bad ass on bass and you can’t help but love Eric as he shreds on his solo.  Their song has us wanting more and more! You can pick up their song Octane on Itunes here  and make sure to crank it up loud!  You will definitely be hearing a lot from Burnos and stay tuned….I am excited to hear what is next.   [Read More]

Christian Martucci of Thousand Watt Stare will join Stone Sour on new tour

December 4, 2013

I know I have told you before that I love Christian Martucci’s music.  I have my Ipod filled with great  songs from Christian’s past and they are some of my favorite songs. From “Nowhere Ride” by The Chelsea Smiles to “Last Fucking Hope” by Black President and to “Shine”, “Downsider” and “Lights Out” from “Thousand Watt Stare“. Not to mention Christian’s solo project, “Man Without a Name”. Christian is just purely awesome on guitar and vocals. He has such a great unique sound that just draws you in and energizes you.  He is like liquid adrenaline running through your veins. Well, Stone Sour recently announced their upcoming tour which is set to start in January in Florida. They also made an announcement that due to the upcoming Slipknot album, guitarist Jim Root will not be heading out on tour with them.  We will miss Jim but guess who is coming in to play for the tour??? That is right, the ever so talented Christian Martucci. So Christian will be rejoining his old bandmate Roy [Read More]

We loved catching Pop Evil when they played at the Aftershock Festival earlier this year in Sacramento. In case you missed it, you can read our post here.  Here is a bit from it: “I headed over from the Media Tent to the Ernie Ball stage as fast as I could since Halestorm was taking the main stage.  Then as I got closer and closer to the Ernie Ball stage, it was packed die hard [Read More]

In This Moment delivers another spectacular performance for Hell Pop Tour

December 3, 2013

Last week, we had the pleasure of covering the Hell Pop Tour with All Hail The Yeti, Kyng, Motionless in White and In This Moment. From the first time I heard In This Moment, I fell in love with them. This was the sixth time covering their show and they never cease to amaze me with their performance.  When you see In This Moment, is not just like seeing a band on stage with their backdrop, etc. is a production like no other and you can’t help but be adrenalized by it! In This Moment has Maria Brink on vocals and she has excellent stage presence. For the first time I saw her live, I haddubbed her the Metal Version of Lady Gaga, she just has a presence that you can’t ignore. Her vocals are spot on and is definitely a crowd pleaser. Then you look to each side of Maria and you are blown away by the guitarists; Chris Howorth on Lead guitar, Randy Weitzel on guitar and Travis Johnson who reminds my son [Read More]

Check out your NEW favorite hard rock band, September Sky

December 2, 2013

As you know we have our annual 12 Days of Music coming up in a couple weeks but I don’t think I can wait that long to feature this band, September Sky.  They are just too incredible and I have to share them with you. My great Twitter friend Bill @MetalGod41 sent me their video tonight to check out and it was one of those times where the whole family got involved. I was playing it and from the other room, came my 15 year old Rockin Ryan to ask, “who is that??”, shortly after my husband Steve came from the garage to say, “turn it up, who is that?”. I think if my youngest Brandon wasn’t so involved in his SpongeBob game he would of ran over to do his usual headbang to it! September Sky is a hard rock metal band from Indianapolis, IN and includes Scott Bernhardt on vocals, Larry Craigon guitar, Mark Lentz on lead guitar, Martin Baker on  drums and Tobias Konnersman on bass. They have a powerful in your face sound that you can’t [Read More]

New Single Buzzkill by Twin Berlin channels Nirvana

December 2, 2013

I have a very special treat for you today.  I am listening right now to Buzzkill the new single by Twin Berlin off of their debut full length album, Sleazebrain which is due out February 18th,2014.  It is unbelievably awesome! It reminds me of one of my all time favorite bands, Nirvana. Twin Berlin just exudes raw garage punk style reminiscent of early grunge days. Think garage style mixed with dirty punk and in your face rock! Vocals on the track are mysterious and multi-dimensional. The song has some nice guitar solos and I can only imagine what energy these guys give off when they perform live. You will get hooked on the solid drumming and cool bass lines.  Twin Berlin is Matt Lopez on Vocals and Guitar, Sean O’Neil on bass and James Janocha on drums. Check out their new song, Buzzkill here: [soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/120910146″ width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]   Twin Berlin has worked on an EP with Travis Barker(blink182) an art collaboration with Mikey Welsh (Weezer), recorded with Garth Hudson (The Band), and have been busy performing [Read More]

Tom Keifer releases video for The Flower Song

December 2, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song. Today Tom released the video for The Flower Song which is one of my favorites off his album. You can check it out here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u68tl82Ihmk&feature=youtu.be]   We also had the opportunity to interview Tom earlier this year and are pleased to repost that interview for you  here: * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Hi Tom, Thank you for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music [Read More]
