Brent Ashley returns to The Dreaming

June 28, 2013

Recently Los Angeles based rockers, The Dreaming announced that their bassist, Martin Kelly was leaving to pursue his career as a tattoo artist and to tour with his original band Living Dead Lights. Martin is an exceptional artist and I think he has a great career ahead of him with anything he does and we wish him well.   Shortly after, The Dreaming announced the return of Brent Ashley. Brent who has been successful with his custom line clothing line, Arrogant Armor will return on bass.  Brent posted the news on Facebook in a very funny post: We also got an update from Christopher as to what The Dreaming is working on and he had this to say, “I’m in the midst of recording the new album. We are putting together a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to do the album completely on our own without a label. Hopefully it will be done by the fall tour. It’s awesome to have Brent back. He was always the spark that kept the band alive and he [Read More]

June 26, 2013

What do you get when you take some sweet blues, blend it with powerhouse vocals and top it with some rockin guitar? Well the incredible music of Lisa Lim, that is what. You can’t help but move to the great groove that Lisa gives out with her songs especially like “Superstitious Mind” or “Distant Second”. Here is her video for Superstitious Mind: Her sound reminds me of an edgier Sheryl Crow sprinkled with Susan Tedeschi. Lisa delivers passionate vocals and amazing guitar work, truly a work of art! Lisa is a  WAMA nominated singer-songwriter and she recently released her second CD, self titled,  which you are going to really love! MADLIFE brings high magnitude intensity to the stage!

June 24, 2013

A few months ago I had the pleasure of introducing MADLIFE to many of you. We had so many of you write in and tell us about your love for them. Well, it is no surprise since this  industrial hard rock band from Los Angeles gains fans seconds after you first hear them.  I can only imagine what seeing them live will do. We have been excited about catching one of their shows since we have heard amazing things about their stage presence and high octane filled shows and couldn’t wait to witness it firsthand. Well Friday night, we jumped at the opportunity to head down to Hollywood and catch their show at the Troubadour.  It was the first time I had been back to the Troubadour since maybe 1986? 1987? I know it was right before Warrant getting banned from there and I don’t even remember who was playing. Oddly enough, the place like many from the Sunset Strip actually looks the exact same. MADLIFE definitely delivered the most intense and engaging live performance [Read More]

Drown yourself in Villains of Vaudeville and come ALIVE!

June 15, 2013

Do you know what is coming up and you have to be ready for???? The premiere of Villains of Vaudeville‘s video for Demolition Baby!   If you don’t know who I am talking about, let me share my love for Villains of Vaudeville with you. I have been secretly in love with my new favorite CD that has been hidden away because I just don’t want to lose this one to ANYONE! It has remnants of everything from Marilyn Manson to Rob Zombie with a hint of STP and everything in between!  Just as stated from Villains of Vaudeville, it is   “Beats that threaten to entrance your soul. Riffs that will rake you from the flames of hell to the rapture of heaven… Listening is a surrender to the right of passage… an Initiation to the dance… You have been warned.” That is so true in so  many ways. Youcan  just get lost in the music in the very best way. Drowning in a romantic array of lyrical beauty that is Kenny Kweens. It [Read More]
