Here we are at #6 for our countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014 and we are excited to announce the honor goes to New Politics! I am sure you can’t imagine them having an even bigger year than 2013, but it is true. These guys are on a non stop Energizer Bunny track to success and just have the Midas Touch. Countdown of 14 bands that will rule 2014! #10 goes to Beware of Darkness

Here we are at the #10 spot, counting down the 14 bands that we think will rule 2014. Today for hot spot Number 10, we bring you Beware of Darkness. This band just exploded on to the scene this year and there is definitely no slowing them down. Beware of Darkness was formed in 2010 by singer/guitarist Kyle Nicolaides and drummer Tony Cupito. They added bassist Daniel Curcio and they became a well rounded powerful trio. In 2013, they released their debut album Orthodox and their song Howl seemed to become one of everyone’s favorite new song including mine. I remember the first time I heard it was when I was listening to the MusicChoice channel on cable. I was writing and the song came on, I almost stumbled out of my chair to race over and make sure I could find out what the song was. Day 4 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to False Puppet

Today is Day 4 of our 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. We have a great young band from Santa Barbara, False Puppet. False Puppet is Tyler Benko on Guitar / Vocals, Channing Peake on Bass / Vocals and Brennan Benko on Drums. There may be only three of them but they create a big sound. Their music has an alternative edge to it but equally rocks and has some great punk influences. They definitely have many layers to their music and it completely draws you in. They caught me off guard because they are so young and yet amazingly talented. NEW TOUR 2014: COMBICHRIST with William Control and New Years Day!

We have just received the dates for the upcoming tour for Combichrist “The We Love Tour” with special guest William Control and New Year’s Day! The tour is set to start off on April 3rd in Charlotte, NC and you can check the other dates below: I am not surprised to see William Control and Combichrist on tour together since when we saw William Control play in San Francisco last month for “The Revel Without a Cause Tour” at the DNA Lounge, Combichrist was hitting the stage downstairs at the DNA Lounge on the same night! As you know we have our annual 12 Days of Music coming up in a couple weeks but I don’t think I can wait that long to feature this band, September Sky. They are just too incredible and I have to share them with you. My great Twitter friend Bill @MetalGod41 sent me their video tonight to check out and it was one of those times where the whole family got involved. I always love it when I hear a band for the first time and I am just instantly hooked. Then I find they have been around for several years. I feel like I have been missing out but I am sure glad that I found them now. For me that band tonight is The Rare. I think I found them when they followed us on Instagram. I know a lot of people think we don’t pay attention but we do. We always try to do our best to check out our Twitter and Instagram followers. So then, I headed over to their website and heard their song samples and I love the straight up rock and roll they deliver. From there I headed over to their Youtube channel and watched their video for a new song, Vegas Valentine which is off their new album In “The Dark” and was just released November 12th! This song is infectious and you can’t help but get drawn in to their energetic vibe, even dipping into a bit of old [Read More]
